People get attacked at raves (-P). Rave culture has become nothing more than numerous cliques (-L, -U), and people sure as hell don't respect themselves, others, or the venues anymore (-R).

PLUR = an ideology. As long as people believe in/practice it, it exists.

It's existed waay before the rave scene and will exist way after too. hell, Jesus taught PLUR. It just didn't have the name back then. It was just "love your neighbor, respect yourself/fellow man", etc

Your right though, the intentions of the mainstream rave scene are far from what they were when it started. But that's okay, the mainstream rave scene isn't actually the rave scene anyways, as far as I'm concerned. Where its at now are various little underground parties, psychadellic parties, outdoor gatherings, etc.

I still have to disagree with you Luke. Most of the "smaller, underground" parties (ie: NOT at the Plaza) still get alot of the same crowds. Which means that people still don't respect the venues or each other, and still act all cliquey.

I mean really, how many times do you see people step outside their little spheres at a party anymore? How many times do you see people helping to clean up afterwards if they aren't friends with/being paid by/getting something from the promoter for it? I'm as guilty as the next person of that, don't get me wrong(not the getting paid/getting something for it though. I'm just too damned tired, or I leave the party early), but I think it's really sad that the scene has degenerated as much as it has.

Maybe it's just time to start setting a good example. But do you think if a few of us went back to the "old school" it would make a difference (legitimate question to be answered, not hypothetical)?
