Blanking out during exams...

Ah it's horrible!!
I had a test on the Russian Revolution today, and well I thought I had a pretty good understanding of all the events leading up to the October Revolution and Lenins death but I guess I was wrong. I studied my heart out, usually I cram and leave things to the night before but I studied on the weekend and reviewed my notes last week as well and then today I go in to write the exam and I totally blank out.
I didn't even have enough time to do the last essay which was out of 10 marks :( :(
To make matters worse there's this guy in my history class who has some anxiety problem which causes him to clear his throat every 3 seconds.
I'm really sensitive to my surroundings so this noise he makes pisses the hell out of me.. like I can't even describe how much it bothers me ESPECIALLY during a test.

Ahh just needed to vent.

Sorry to hear about it...but hey, if it's any consollation, it happens to the best of us. =)

You should really talk to your prof/TA/teacher and arrange for a better exam taking environment if you are that sensitive. Most of them are very understanding. (of course, it's too late for that now...but for the future, you should)

It's just harsh because I lost a lot of sleep over this test, I went to bed at 4:30ish last night because I was so determined to get a good mark.

I have that guy in my biology class too, we were watching a movie once and I just couldn't take the noise anymore so I freaked out and was like "WHAT THE FUCK" and the teacher came up to me after class and asked me if everything was ok, he then explained that guys situation. Apparently he's going to be leaving to go back to Korea for a few months though.. I hope his plans follow through.
I feel like such a bitch saying that but i just can't focus!

i always blank out during exams. ah well, in 2 weeks or so im done with college for a year or two.

Awww I hate blanking out in exams, it happens 2 me everytime I do 1!!!! It doesn't matter how much I study either. It's such a piss off!!!! :finger:

i hate it when that happens, and it does all the time. how ever many hours of studing gone down the drain and the moment you pick up your pen. only thing you really can do tho is to answer what you know, then bullshit your way thru the rest

YUp! and it especialy happens when u only study the night before! you know the info is is that brain somewhere....but you just cant retrieve it!
