Shooting at the drink, stabbing at the sonar?

According to police, a fight broke out between 5 or more people outside the Sonar nightclub in Gastown. Four people were taken to hospital with stab wounds. It's not clear how serious their injuries are. Two men were taken into custody. Meanwhile a few blocks north, police closed off Richards Street between Hastings and Cordova after a man was shot several times outside the Drink nightclub. The man was rushed to hospital. He is listed in stable condition. One witness who didn't want to be identified phoned BCTV News on Global Sunday afternoon to say that the two suspects were waiting in the alley for a specific person to come out of the nightclub. The witness said the man who was shot was not the intended victim. Police were unable to locate the suspects or the alleged intended victim. No arrests were made. If you witnessed or have any information on either of these incidents, you are asked to contact Vancouver Police or Crimestoppers.

whoa and this happened last night?
this week there was a shooting just 1 block away from my house and 2 east indian ppl were killed. damn our world really is getting more and more dangerous. i never expected sumthin like this to happen in my own neighborhood.

When will people learn that a world class city doesn't mean world class, headline grabbing violence. Too bad all the $$$ that went into the gun registry can't be directed at the legal costs involved with lobotomizing all these morons; after all, they've already proven their inability to properly use their brains, why not just skim a little off the top for good measure...

i think canadians, even just british columbians are spoiled. the world is a violent place, you know how many people are murdered around the world everyday?. it's terrible when people have their lives taken, but come on, afraid of vancouver? this is one of the safest places to live ON EARTH. think about that, cuz the worlds a big place.
When these people get shot up in tha club its because they are playing a game and they lost at it, they knew the risks and consequences. it only really bothers me when its an innocent by stander

well didn't the article say that the person shot was not the intended victim???
I guess it doesnt really clairify if he was an innocent bystander or someone that was involved in some history with the shooter as well. But at least they didn't die. I still believe Vancouver is a safe place to live. But it's a shame that some people have to make a good club feel like an unsafe place to be. I want to go have a couple drinks, listen to a good dj, and not get shot or stabbed in the face thanks.

holy shit i was wondering why gastown was so dead when i showed up down there at 3:30am... i saw the drink blocked off and an SUV parked right at the entrance doors, and i saw a buncha gangstas standing around the corner and that didn't make any sense until i saw the police tape...
i didn't know anything happened at sonar though... i walked right up to the bouncer and he was like "sorry we're done for the night".. and i was like wtf it's not 4am yet, i wanna get TIPSY. it all makes sense now. holy shit, if i wouldn't have stopped by that damn rave last night... i would've been downtown a little earlier, and i might've gotten CAPPED. the moral is... RAVES SAVE LIVES.

yeah, i drove past just after 3, and there were tons of cops....my friend and i figured at least we wouldnt have to worry about being pulled over on the way home, cuz all the cops in van were there.
