mMmMmm censorship... TASTY!
Oh I know it's been said before but I'm gonna say it again.
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY CENSORSHIP!!! Gotta love it eh? I mean who the fuck would want to believe that we actually do live in a free world with *gasp* FREE SPEECH! NOT I!!! See I'm fine with closing threads that're "racist in nature or make fun of people with disabilities in a rude or demeaning fashion" or otherwise unacceptable but when a person is voicing their OPINION on a matter I don't think that's grounds for deletion. Was I slandering anyone... no Was I being a bit of a bitch... maybe I was Does that mean a thread should be deleted... hell fucking no! Not only was I unable to defend my position after being given bad karma (and most likely flamed) but any of the good points I made were scoured from existence. You could've closed the thread thereby signalling the end of conversation which I would've been a lil annoyed at but respected and left it at that. But a straight up deletion? That pisses me right the fuck off. In closing I would like to thank the moderators for censorsing me although I never did anything wrong aside from stating my opinion and I'd also like to give them kudos for playing favourites (as this is most likely the reason for deletion). Now lets all sit back n see how long I have to get closed and/or deleted here...

Cerah this hasn’t been your first complaint (heck, I doubt it shall be your last), but what you need to understand is not everything on FNK can be totally fair! We have almost a thousand new posts a day (over a thousand on weekends), far too many for our few moderators (lol, or Winston ;)) to pick and delegate over. Hot topics attract more attention, that’s not rocket science.
We do our best to keep FNK (and our members) from getting too hot headed within a thread. We use our best discretion on topics that look as if they may get out of control and become overly offensive. If you had read the agreement when you first registered, you would see that by joining FNK you agree the understanding that we hold the right to edit/remove anything you post. Quote:

It's called the Blogosphere, Shorerider.
The main thing being that I'd honestly like to see FNK be as supportive a part of it. I think one of the main ways the internet can help the world is if you just allow for discussion. Shit gets cleared away. The majority rules less as common sense does. Considering what an excellent resource of information FNK is to so many Vancouver-area young people (Generally, ages 15-25) get information about what's going on in the proximity, what kind of media coverage has been going around, stuff you're not necessarily hearing about the world that would be worthwhile. It would be nice if there was a little more promotion of said discussion in these parts, rather than merely censoring the issue when the scruples get a bit hairier. Discussion can help mend problems. Yes, flame wars arise, but I find more often than not that it's best to let the audience decide who's being the dickwad and leave it at that. No reason to treat it like a train wreck, IMHO. I've spoken out against censorship many times before, I will continue to in the future. Only through dialogue can we use all this communication stuff to help try and fix the world we're living in.

I understand that at times things get pretty heated n ugly on this site but in the last three odd years that I've been a member when have I ever slandered or been overly offensive to the point where you need to delete something I've said?
Sure I'm a bitch from time to time but who the hell isn't on here? You don't go around deleting everyone else's posts that become "hot topics" when people are bad mouthing one another back and forth... so why this one? I've seen Winston go on threads before that have been getting rather offensive and he warns them to stop it or he'll close the thread. It either stops... or gets closed. Like I said before... I would've understood and respected the fact that the discussion was over had the thread simply been closed. But in this case it was straight up deleted without even a warning. I find that strange.

Don't feel free to tell us any of them or anything like that.
Granted, the only base for deletion needed is You didn't want it there. But still. It'd be nice if we could have discussion without the Big Axe of Moderation constantly looming over us.

There is a fine line between discussion and revilement. The few may be able to hold a mature debate on a topic but the major member base here sometimes can't. I will agree it's frustrating to have your voice deleted strictly on the fact others couldn't donate the same level of focus you do.
