hahah this thread makes me laugh.
ie and windows never crashing? wow. even with insanely simple use (such as the kind of stuff my mom does) it crashes. on topic though, i've only had firefox crash on me a few times. doesn't happen very often at all. (and i'm not some one tab only type of person either).

I've been using Mozilla since probably around M10 or M11, switching over to Firefox when it was still Phoenix. Yes, it's gone through its stability ups and downs. Yet for real browsing, IE just doesn't compete. And for system security, no one should be using IE. IE is the most security-hole-ridden piece of software that currently exists.
Get rid of your old profiles if you're upgrading. Old profiles are the chief reason why Firefox becomes crashy. IE's got one useful feature: Ease of use for beginners. It comes bundled with the OS, and integrates so incredibly tightly that it's become nearly impossible to match here. As your skill as a user increases though, Mozilla and co. become more and more necessary.
