Worst Christmas Eve ever!

I thought it would have been impossible for this Holiday Season to get any worse, but it actually did this morning.
My four year old cat, "Timmy", had to be put down this morning do to a calcium build up in his urinary tract. He was in considerable pain all morning. Moaning, not eating and everytime you'de get close to him, he'd hiss at you. I couldn't believe the sound he made when my dad picked him up to put him in the car to take him to the vet.
When I was holding him at the vet's office, through all the pain he was going through, Timmy actually stopped moaning and layed on my lap purring. It was one of the most bitter sweet things I have ever gone through.

R.I.P, buds. No one is ever going to replace you.

Losing a pet is horrible.... I know, it's happened to me too. It doesn't help that it's on Christmas to boot.

Pets are defintiely irreplaceable.... my condolences :(

We had to put my cat down because he had a huge cancerous tumor in his neck, and it was obviously fucking him up... but even then, choosing to end his life was incredibly painful. Empathy for you.

My cat Sammy died right in front of me at home this past summer :( it was the saddest thing I've ever seen in my whole life, and there I was with his little paw in my hand watching him slowly pass away...

he was a good friend.

i cant even imagine what its like. my dog had a slipped disk, but before i knew that, her intire bottom half of her body was in convulsions from pain, she was crying non-stop, and if you went near her she would yelp in this tear-your-heart-out-and-kick-it kind of way. my parents were out of town, my brother was useless, so i had to drive her to the vet. i was crying, she was crying, but it all ended up mostly ok in the end. that bothered me beyond beliefe.

That is absolutely terrible, I can't even begin to imagine what it would feel like to lose a pet :(

losing a pet is horrible. i lost my dog in april, and she was under my feet sleeping when she had a really horrible seizure. i woke up my parents and she was okay for a while, but then she died in my dad's arms, in front of my mom and i.

so crushed.

at least he'll be happier now.

i had to put down my pup of 15 years a few months back... it was tough, he was such a good dog.(ate his own shit but who cares about that)

That is terrible. Very sorry to hear it.

That's the way you have to think about it though. They aren't suffering anymore and they can rest in peace.

I lost a dog a few weeks ago, it was a symbol of a lot of pain and neglect in my house. But it was something that wouldn't be prevented right? Try to remember the good times you had with your pet and don't let it ruin your holidays!

exactly. no more medication, no seizures.. she sits in a tiny urn on top of the fridge (since the kitchen was her favourite room in the house). ahhh just thinking about this is making my eyes all watery.

hopefully the rest of your christmas is better.
