this kind of shit happens to me all the time at work...since i am friends with everyone, i hear all the back talking and gossip. i have learned just to keep my mouth shut, stay neutral, and not join in. otherwise shit hits the fan for you as well in the end.

I like to try to say something. I try to be a very loyal friend to those who matter most to be (and sometimes that works out to my disadvantage.)
I used to really really be upset by people who said or did nothing in those situations. After some thought, I honestly can't expect everyone to feel as strongly as I do on some horizons. Some people say nothing- but really it's not necessarily because they don't love and respect their friends. Some people say/do nothing because they don't want confrontation, because they don't want drama, because they'd rather not get involved- and sometimes that means they are taking the higher road. We've all been there before.

I would tell them what I tell anyone in a sitch like this,
"Yo, -insert friends name here- is my homie, it makes no difference to me how you feel about them, or if you dont like them, but I make my own opinions about people and i'd appreciate if you didn't talk shit bout em in front of me." This is how drama starts, its like well, since YOU hate on this person, I should too rite? Wrong. Everyone has different opinions of everyone else, and there's no sense in basing your opinion on someone else's. Thats just stupid. It's also rough hearing people talk shit about your friends, but you can't change their opinion just like they can't change yours... so I find the best thing to do is just stay away from talking about them at all. Of course, this is all if you are friends also with the person who was talking shit. If you aren't friends with them, just tell them to shut the fuck up. :)

i cant stand people who talk bad behind others back... its very catty and inmature...people should say things to each others face.. If someone dear to me was being talked badly about i would forsure give them a peice of my mind... Im a very loyal friend...

It depends on the situation.
If I have a friend who dislikes another friend of mine.. and they are equally good friends.. I just ignore it.. I dont agree.. I dont respond.. I just ignore. I try not to pick sides because everyone is entiled to there own opinion. And alot of the time the things someone is saying about another person are true. If im in a situation where someone is disrespecting my friend.. I will DEFINATELY stick up for them and tell them to STFU!!! As far as telling a friend something another friend said about them... That also depends on how I feel about the blabbing friend.. My friends are like my family.. and they all know that I would do ANYTHING for them. I <3 you friends! ;D

I generally like to keep my mouth shut about stuff like that, because I don't want to involve myself in drama.
I was recently in a situation where my old manager who transferred to another store of the same company was shit talking my current manager not only because she wanted me to transfer to her store but because she disliked my manager... she went as far as to call my current manager a "psychotic bitch" right to my face, and said some other nasty things. I decided to keep my mouth shut because I don't want to involve myself in unnnecesary drama that could cause tension within and with the company. I think how you react to the situation should all be dependent on the context. Weigh the costs and benefits... and just do what you think is right in the end.

Somtimes ill bud in and say somthing if i have a fair chance. However somtimes its best to keep your month shut. Really depends on what is being said and the situation your in.
Personaly I dont expect my freinds to speak up if someone says shit about me, just hope they ignore it and pass it by. However if they do stand up for me... I have the most appreciated respect for them and never forget :)
