i'm so happy i got out of my restaurant shift today. :D i can only imagine having to deal with the hordes. the various parades over the last couple months have been bad enough.

i remember once waking up a friend's place severely hung over, after a debaucherous night partying on a boat til about 5 am, and sitting outside waiting for a taxi, without realizing some sort of healthy & charitable event was going on the street over. nothing to compound a hangover than a bunch of moms and kids all fresh-faced and walking/running, yelling, clapping.. ugh, makes me cringe to think about it.

Strange, though. Some people can sleep through it and some can't. I guess it just depends on what one has become used to tuning out (traffic, etc.).
