haha...WOOPS
So today I went into work and all the systems were completely down, which was cool because for the first little while I actually got paid to sit there and do nothing but work on the crossword in the newspaper. Then I got to spend a good few hours in this focus group for implementing changes for work...this was all very slack, but resulted in me spending about 5 hours at work.
After I get back from this focus group, my manager comes up to me and says 'yeah so it turns out you actually had today booked as a vacation day' . In short, it means I came into work on my day off, and although I got to leave early and get paid for the whole day, I don't get this vacation day back. The weird part of it all is, I had no reason to have today booked off, so naturally I have no recollection of booking it off before. In the event that someone else f'ed up, I get the day back, which I realllly would love to get. So yeah, I guess it was a little bittersweet. Just wish I got to sleep in a little more.

yeah but the systems were down, so he would have no way of telling if i actually had the day off or not..
the company is really bureaucratic and everything concerning time off or time worked goes through a dept in montreal, so he wouldn't know until they called them.

if he was the best manager ever he would've told you that it was your day off first thing in the morning! either that or gotten you another day off.
