When you make a mistake at work.

So annoyed with myself right now. I managed to screw up someone flights just by replying to the wrong e-mail. We can fix it, but it's going to cost the company now. It's such a piss off when you try so hard to be thorough all the time. And then one simple thing just screws everything up.

Face up to your mistakes, otherwise you're going to eventually be known as the idiot who "passes the buck". Plus someone who can own up to their own errors... it really says alot about you and is much more appreciated in the end.

Sucks to screw stuff up, but as long as you notice your mistake and do everything you can to fix it.... not so bad. Good luck!

Amen, a lot of what I do at my job is just that, cleaning up the bullshit from some buck passer. I probably apologize on behalf of the company for someone else's fuckup more than I do for myself every day. It sucks.

Admitting to fuckuperry will likely benefit you in the end, people respect accountability.

Yah I fessed up. But we have a good system at work. Even if I tried I couldn't get away with it. Everything you do in the system shows up in the history.
But when you do flights through my airdesk, you just send the e-mailed quote back, and say ok to book, with the plan you are attaching it too. In my case I had a couple quotes sitting in my inbox from that day. And when the person called back to book, I sent one with a similar price and time. But for the wrong date. :(
So anyway it was the last one of the day, and the person didn't notice when she plugged in the price, that the plan was for Feb and the flights I sent in were for December.
So yah it just sucked. But my boss knows it was a mistake, and told me not to worry to much. Just don't do it again. (which goes without saying)
