rejected piercings
Holy fucking shit...I have had like 4 piercings now that just dont want to heal. first was just an earing whatever no biggie, I had my anit navel the guy didn't do a good job of piercing it first off and then my body just didn't want it. Then I had a barbell in my ear, that just didnt heal so I took it out and now I have had to take out my nose ring which fucking sucks the most. That was the piercing I had always wanted and I finally got it and I had it for almost a year and it just wouldn't heal. it had gotten infected a few times but my other friends had told me they had the same problum and it's fine now and they all healed. This morning mine was pussing and bleeding and my mom told me I had to take it out that she didnt want me to go threw all this shit again with another piercing. The thing I dont get is I have a normal belly button ring and that ones fine it got infected once and has been fine since I've had it like 4 years now. Im just so annoyed...I loved my pretty nose ring.

^Sometimes your body just doesn't want that crap! You may be particularly more sensitive to what the jewelry is made out of, so sometimes trying a different kind will work better. (some people can only wear gold etc.)
I had a similar problem with my nipple ring, after a year and it still wasn't healed properly I just took it out. It's just not worth the trouble sometimes! |

I thought it might have been the jewlery. My Parent's bought me a really nice gold nose ring as a grad gift so I put that in like 5 months ago and it still didn't make a diffrence. I just dont think my body want's piercings. Yet my tattoo healed amazingly lol

i highly doub it got infected. your piercing would not be infected unless it had all of the following problems: it felt really really hot all around it, 1 inch around it was red, pussing out green pus, and the pain was intollerable. it was probably just irritated. nose piercings along with other other cartilage piercing get irritated easily and can take forever to heal. did you already take it out??? if not here are some tips: -soak it with warm/hot water, whatever you can tolerate, add salt to the water until it tastes like tear drops. do so for 15-30 mins - soak it with a camomile tea bag [again as hot as can stand.] re dipping into the water every time it gets cold. 15-30mins. if youve taken it out and youd like to get some more piercings, i recommend going to Next! downtown van. its just past nelson on granville. www.nextbody.com is their website and they also have some good cleaning and extra help healing tips on their. :) |

not always true. Sometimes infections don't flair up like that. I've had several that didn't pus until I took out the ring and squeezed the fuck out of it. One of my nipple rings, for example, seemed like it was healing swell until I decided to put a curved barbell in and the infectious green goo just poured out of it. It didn't even hurt. Try niobium jewlery. I've come across a few people that couldn't use gold, sterling silver, surgical steel. . anything. But I picked up some niobium rings for them and they were aok. Also, try this little homemade antiseptic a shot. Just mix up 1oz of Witch Hazel with 6oz of water. I came across it when my buddy really wanted me to give him a piercing but it was too late to go pick up proper shit. Turns out it works great and seems to cut down on the healing time quite a bit. I'd still recommend store-bought antiseptics for regular use, but every now and then it's good to give the homemade one a shot; it's much more powerful. And remember, captive rings help your piercing heal a lot better than barbells because they allow for more play. So if you're not piercing initially with captive rings, that could also be a factor. |

just a lot of people thing their piercings are infected when truely its just the process of healing and irritation. also i agree with the witchhazel! highly recommended!. |

you're right.. by no means should it take more than 6 weeks to fully heal. Like I said, it's probably an issue with her body rejecting the type of metal she is using. So again, I say go with niobium. I have never, in any 'client' I have used it on (in? lol), heard of it being rejected.
I've been piercing friends, aquaintances, strangers, even myself for several years now. I highly recommend niobium to anyone who has complications with gold, silver, sterling silver, surgical steel, or anything else. |

that could be the case, fo sho. . but if you love your piercings, give the niobium a shot. You never know, it's worked for quite a few of the people I've pierced that have picky skin. It might be the answer. If I remember right, it's not that much more expensive than surgical steel, and the styles aren't limited.

^ yea I would do that but my mom had a freak out on me today about how as long and Im in her house she doesn't want me to have anymore piercings cause she's tired of dealing with me like this lol.
So I think I'll put the whole piercing thing ont he back burner for a lil while. |

haha, my mom was like that. . she flipped when I dyed my hair blue in grade 7, and lost it when I pierced my tongue in grade 8. She put her foot down and said "no more" but for some reason she gave in when she walked into my room one night to see me piercing my own nipples in grade 8. I guess she decided there was nothing she could do.

where did you get it done?
i got mine done at sinister in port moody, and had a little trouble in the beginning but it was my own fault - i used epson salt insead of sea salt and built up a mineral deposit. ryan at sinister (i think his name was ryan) told me a couple of soaks a day with sea- salt water as hot as i can stand (about 1/4 a tsp to a cup of water) then rinse it with hot water, then boil up a rag, put a couple of drops of tea tree oil on it and hold that to my nose as soon as i can handle the heat, and then rinse. cleared that shit right up and it was oozing and doing crazy things. he also said that depending on your body, is how long it can take to heal. mine is just now a year old and i donno if its healed or not but still if i get bumped on the nose or it gets pulled on a sweater, it bleeds a little. maybe im just sensitive or maybe peircings here do it or maybe its not healed. id be sad to take out my peircing. |
