Besides, I said their reviews blow ass -and they do- not their articles. Their articles are usually pretty good. I have been reading the bastard for a couple years now steady. Hell, I've even applied to write for them a few times. Never again.

They made use of VICE's minibook on the Nike Skateboard Team in this month's Adbusters. Nike has destroyed skate culture but left the shoes, apparently.

He's also the movie editor at The Nerve, for whom I also write. I've only chatted with him a few times through email but I've read his editor's letter thing a lot and, from all my experiences, he seems like a good guy. As for him knowing they're racist, probably not. Although the article that he's writing for them right now is pretty intense. I'm pretty sure he could care less at the moment; then again I'm not one to speak for him. Actually, I think he'd probably find the interview entertaining. If you can take that interview serious, I think you really need to read between the lines.

I ran into him and Brad (the nerve) last night at a party. We spent the evening drinking dom and talking about "chinks" and "pakis". Not really, but we did have some dom. Personally, I've seen much worse commentary come from him than you've listed here in vice, but the key is that it's all tongue in cheek. I think the next time you correspond with Michael you should only refer to him as dr.brianoblivion or dbo. He'll get a chuckle and probably pull you from the magazine. Or you could always ask him about "trip's jib" which may get you some praise.
