There is nothing more that annoys me then people who can't do things for themselves. People who need constant hand holding and guidance.

You are a freaking adult you should be able to;

Google it.
Check the website.
Look it up in the yellow pages.
Read.
Phone that person/place or thing yourself.
Research it.
Go to your destination.

Most of the time it strikes me that people do it purely for the attention they get from it. I guess I don't get the need for human interaction with strangers.

You can't expect everyone to be as educated as your on how the internet works. Some people really think they're getting a better faster answers from here. I guess a phone number or something is different but If im looking for info about a product or something I'd mos def post a question.

There's getting a second opinion once you've already exhausted your own resources (ie good patios to drink at, good furniture stores, etc.) and then there's not trying to find it yourself at all, I thought it was fairly obvious she was referring to the latter.

personally, I still think asking real people is better...

Google (if it had been updated) would tell you this patio is good, that one sucks.

But there's also advertising involved.. so its promotional.

Whereas a bunch of people can say.. yeah its good atmosphere.. try this drink... or the food is good but the service is terrible.

With website info its likely that there wont be any negative info about the places you lookup and therefore.. I guess its kindof false info.

The website was all about the Patios in Vancouver, where they were located and their seating numbers. Food/service/marketing were all secondary.
