I want floor tickets... my girlfriend wants seats... I can understand she doesn't want to get in with the masses, getting pushed around and whatnot, totally understandable... but at the same time I really don't think I could enjoy this concert from the seats...

first off let me say that this is a really fucking bold statement about my relationship with my gf for someone that doesn't know shit about it... I do give a shit about my girlfriend's happiness and safety, which is why this small situation is weighing so heavily... if I was an narcasstic asshole about it I wouldn't have even discussed this and just got floor tickets without giving a shit at all, without leaving myself vunerable to statements like yours... needless to say, I'm glad I'm not dating someone that takes any opportunity they can to take a shit on someone without thinking... like you...

and for the issue of sacrifice... as we see, the argument works both ways, and I'm very fortunate to be in a relationship where most of the time it works both ways... will say though that every concert I've been to with her we've been up in the seats and just this once, for Tool, I'd like to be out on the floor...

but whatever... I'll probably just get seats... I doubt anything would happen on the floor but if anything did happen to her I'd probably regret it for an eternity so fuck it... not worth the bullshit

i saw the last tool concert here from seats and it was really good. the performance/music is so good that it doesn't really matter. plus the light show looked really good from the stands.

yeah... and I mean... for the songs like "10,000 days", "parabol" and "reflection" seats are fine... but I know as soon as they start playing "forty six and 2" or "third eye", I'm going to die a little inside... but yeah... awesome music, and hopefully the visuals during the show will make up for my unability to go into a frenzy...

As someone who hates the pit, I can understand why she'd what to have seats.

When you're a small person, there's really no point in being in the pit. You can't see, people are slamming into you, and it really becomes a waste of the $80 you've paid for a ticket.

um, floor tickets don't mean your girl has to be right smack in the middle of the pit.

there's tons of room near the back of floor. that way you can do the "baby i'll be back in 1 song" and rock out, and be back to chill for the others.

kinda my thoughts... wasn't even planning to get into the mosh pit... just wanted to jump around during the harder songs and dance around like a stupid hippy during the softer ones (another statement leaving me incredibly vunerable to attack :P)... but at the end of the day, someone is going to get half the experience... and I've kinda decided that her not having peace of mind during the show would probably fuck up her enjoyment a lot more than my not being about to go all crazy, so fuck it, I'll just get seats... I'll go empty out some aggression when I go see a band she hates...
