I was just reading about the changes they made to the (formerly known as the Ewok) Village in '05. . . I almost don't want to go now.

I mean... if they'd do that to something as phenomenal as an organically-infused stage... what else are they going to do to make it feel like just another rave?

re: villiage.. yeah its too bad they had to tear all that down - but its been two years since the dome was built so id expect to see some improvements, watching them build that thing was crazy. Someone told me the plan was to build platforms again.. they had to tear them down cuz they were rotting and unsafe...

I personally didn't like the village in 05 for various reasons - but im sure now that they have had some more time to build it will be super-dope again

if your looking for an "organic feel" stick to the fractal, portal and the beach.

Yeah, the 'Village' didn't impress me much. Probably spent a total of half an hour there, including wandering through to get to other stages. I hear it was better in the past but since they cleared a lot of space there, it's not the same. Maybe they'll make amends this year.

Fractal Forest is sweet if you want to dance with a canopy of trees overhead though.

So much time, energy and $ went into building that dome – must have been shitty for those guys to hear all the bad reviews. I don’t know what they did last year but I think they should cover the inside with white cloth and use it as a projection background. In 05 they JUST finished it in time and didn’t have time for anything else, then it rained and made things even more of a challenge. It was pretty crazy to see them do it though. Something like that should be done by qualified people, such as engineers and contractors, not a bunch of hippies on acid and their volunteers. One of the guys camping next to us was working on it and almost caught a crobar in the skull, it was dropped from the top of the dome.

The village in 03 was the best by far.

The "gutted" ewok stage was still probably my favourite stage last year . Plenty of room to dance, great music thruout (DRUM AND BASS SATURDAY!!!!) - that was what appealed to me.

They rebuilt the ewok village due to safety reasons and the sheer growth of festival attendees.

Didn't you say before that you've never actually made it out yourself? If so, how can you even make a judgment call?

It will never feel like just another rave. One day there will convince you of that. It really works quite simply.... I'll explain for those of you with slightly below average IQ quotients: GO, EXPERIENCE, DECIDE FOR YOURSELF, REPEAT :)

How can I make a judgment call? Simple. I've been hearing stories and seeing pictures and video footage for years now from friends that have gone religiously. The entire time, it was always the Ewok Village that enticed me the most. Now, I see pictures and clips from last year and it just doesn't draw me in like it used to. I will still go, though.
