so how was those overpriced event? did people actually enjoy the music or was it cuz it was "Tiesto!" ZOMGWTFBBG!!! No bomb scare like his show in Winnipeg a few days ago?

it was actually, VERY suprisingly, the best "rave" styled event ive been to so far. The lights and atmosphere, along with huge crowd, many whom i must admit were first timers and you could tell... girls wearing 6 inch heels and drinking and then walking around barefoot ect. But tiestos pre-recorded set was actually very enjoyable. The lights and lasers were amazing (Solid ent. Take notes!) the smoke was perfectly evenly spread out, and the sound quality was pristine. I dint even have a floor ticket, but i moved to the back of the stadium with my friends and watched the wicked lazers ect from there. Cuz honestly... i dont care that its tiesto.. i dont need to be able to see him. It was all about the music and the dancing ect. Anyways i would have to say it was worth it for me.

I must admit, i poke much fun at him for such pre recorded sets. But look at his show times, hes doing one a day basically. Hes trying to bring a perfect expeirence each time, and for something like that a pre-recorded set is needed when your talking about hundreds of thousands of dollars a night.

Although id still rather see tons of other djs instead of tiesto with the same sort of set up, i must admit that the show was actually pretty good. Sure the drops did not compare to yoji or DBD at fusion, or eddie halliwel at doomsnight. But the atmosphere that was created was actually quite nice.

Dont get me wrong, If I were playing a stadium every night, Id have a pre-programmed set too... I just think the production company probably did more than he did; buuuuuut, I wasnt there so my opinion is moot.

the sound WAS amazing. When you walked from the front of the stage towards the back you could hear the sound from the hanging speakers kick in as the speakers on the ground started to fade out. No time delay, No lacking or piercing volumes, Great quality.. Even though everyone was packed at the front because of the wicked atmosphere and music, it all sounded great from the back too.

i might have a little bit of "tiesto tiesto tiesto!" in me... But I had no complaints about the mixing and music selection.

The Tiesto party was just INSANE!!!! I haven't seen GM Place as packed since last year watching the Canucks there. The setup was awesome, the music was excellent, and the crowd just ROARED! Wow! Totally fun, totally cool, I am so glad I paid the over price because it was by far the best party I went to (sober). My only grudge was the price of a glowstick was $5 each, which the glow only lasted, and I am not exaggerating on this one, about 45 min and the stick was completely dead! Water bottles were $4 each and they took the cap off when you bought the water (in fear people may throw them at the Dj...well hello missy, as if glowsticks wouldn't cause the same damage! Pffff...in any event, I managed to pursuade the vender to keep my bottle cap (calling someone a sweetheart goes a long way). In any event, I have lots of video footage, but not many pictures. Look for it up on facebook or youtube.

dj Kevin Shiu was the opener dj.

Who recently toured for Sasha and John Digweed earlier this year. Whenever those two are in town playing seperate dates, Kevin is personally requested by the artists.

He will be opening for John Digweed Septembmer 5th at Celebrities.
