i can't remember the last time i went to see a dj live at ANY venue let alone watching tiesto dj live at gm place. it isn't worth the cash that the promoter is charging. |

i wouldnt even pay 10-20$ to see tiesto. I'd only go to a free show if someone gave me lots of drugs to handle all the trance.

i was talking to some lady in the shop last week about party tickets, and she asks me "are you going to see tiesto?" so i'm like "uhh no not really my thing" and she just backs away, doesn't say another word to me. like i told her i eat babies or something.

for a while i have defended ticket prices for tiesto's show at gm place ,but that was when it was 85 dollars plus service. seeing that it has since skyrocketed to 160 plus service didn't surprise me as i predicted floor seats to be in the 100 dollar range before the show was even announced. i do think that it was shitty how the promoter said the tickets were gonna be 60-85 and then suddenly jack it up to literally double in prices after a couple of days without any sort of warning.
for what its worth, some people will pay more for a show some will pay less. its always been that way for every show of any genre of music. i've seen tiesto maybe 6-7 times now and honestly, my 98 dollar ticket goes to partying at gm place moreso than seeing tiesto. |

I love trance more than anything.. I was tiesto fan back in 199 and i think his last release I liked was flight 643.
Lethal industry can take a close second there. But back when he was producing tracks like Sparkles and working with System F for Vimana, that was his prime. Same goes with the trance genre. But, it matured and some great sounds are coming out of it these days. But to spend $200 on tiesto is a waste of money, espicially when there's so much better trance than tiesto, for instance; anything on the in trance we trust label, euphonic, anjuna, solaris. David Forbes, Kyau Vs Albert. Ofcourse.. no one brings new artists cause no one know's who they are and that's why they should bomb the venue that tiesto will be in, once the concert starts... to kill the tards. |

I think people expect to see headliner DJ's to perform. Of course they need to look like they're having a good time other wise they can bring down the crowd. Some people like cheesiness (like Tiesto, Ferry or Armin whom dance and look like they're enjoying their set). I saw armin shoot imaginary arrows into the crowd once and as stupid as it was, everyone loved it.
If you've never seen Yoji before you should. The difference between him and some other DJ's is that he'll strike a pose during every build up or break down to really sell the music and get the people who are fixated on him to enjoy themselves. He doesn't compromise himself with silly dancing, but atleast he's involved and you can recognize the effort. You can't help but give in a little more when you see someone who truly takes in the music and tries that hard. |

it's really great to know that these guys are putting an equal amount of thought & energy into their performance, as they are to their DJing.

DBSÂ*-Â*Terrorists Threaten DJ Tiësto [news]
Terrorists threaten DJ Tiësto???After pop star Shakira, who had dropped off her planned Beirut date for her "Oral Fixation" tour this summer, now Dutch trance DJ Tiësto could be another one to cancel his scheduled Beirut appearance. According to the Lebanese website Ya Libnan rumors have emerged that Fatah al-Islam terrorist cell has directly threatened to kill Tiësto if he dares to show up for his planned July 2 concert performance in Beirut. The site also reports that on October 1, 2005, Tiesto broke records when over 16,000 people showed up to party with their beloved Tiësto at his long awaited debut in Beirut. The event, which took place at Forum de Beirut, has been coined the largest event ever in the Middle East. As much as we are tempted to laugh about this, that's just horrible. Lebanese people just want to go out, have fun, dance and listen to music. What's wrong with that? |
