hard house/dance/trance

Can someone explain to me what differentiates the following three genres?

- Hard House

- Hard Trance

- Hard Dance

Like, maybe just a rundown of what makes a song "hard dance" instead of "hard house" or "hard trance"?

It's not really answered by Ishkur's guide. This is the only forum I've seen "hard dance" discussed.

I'm kinda confused about the "Hard Dance" and "Hardstyle" things myself.

I know can hear the difference between Hard House and Hard Trance though. If I play Hard House my Roomate bashes on the wall and yells "TURN DOWN THE RAVE!!!"

Hard Dance? What the heck is that?
Hard Trance is like boom boom boom boom boom and so on.
Hard House, to me has an irregular beat of some sort.

Hard Dance tends to have more melody than Hardstyle or Hard House, but still possesses alot of the percussive elements found in Hard House. Hardstyle, in my experience, makes up for its lack in melody with rhythms and a ton of percussion. Hard House I see as the middleground between the two extremes and the root of both sub-genres. Hard Trance and Hard Dance are so close I don't really see the need to distinguish between the two genres. The only real difference being that Hard Trance, like Trance, is primarily melody driven, whilst Hard Dance still relies alot on percussion, thus making it more 'danceable' for the masses.

Confused yet? So am I. Think of it this way...

When high people wave their arms around in a flailing pattern and their eyes roll back into their heads, that's trance.

When they start pounding their feet really loudly and perspire alot that's hard trance.

When they get into big circles and try to yank eachothers arms out of their sockets that's hardstyle.

When they pass out or od, that's usually hard house.

So "Hardstyle" is just a new name for "techno", now that "techno" means "schranz"?

I have never seen this phenomenon... please, by all means, explain... is it more of a 'massive' thing? Sounds bizarre!

If this is hard dance I LIKE IT A LOT!

Your Download-Link: http://rapidshare.de/files/1316794/t...s_now.wmv.html 7 MB wmv video

After clicking above link, then click the "Free" button at bottom of next web page, it will make you wait about 40 seconds, and then the real link will appear, click that link or right-click it and "save target as.." probably is better.

hardstyle will never be called techno.

mux.. :(

I have some hardstyle and its really just a 909 tweaked to the tits.. THAT'S IT.

Hard trance these days are showing more of an acid side in the intro. I have a lot of hard trance that is a 303 right off the bat.
My older hard trance is a hardstyle intro but surely finding a way into the uplifting side.

I have no idea what the hell hard dance is.. But I know 100% that its not up-tempo.
