Once y'all (OK, not all but a few of you) grow up and get over the whole image bullshit and just listen to the music you might like it more.
Who cares what they look like? Who cares if they're 'emo'? I like their older hardcore stuff but as far as I'm concerned the new album is pretty solid.... different but solid.

EVERYONE IS A CONFORMIST Unless you're the very first to pioneer something you are a conformist. You think you're 'OMG so unique and different'!!!!??? Gimme a break! Honestly, if that's your view on the music industry it's pretty safe to say that 99.9% of bands out there are spineless and not worth your respect. There are very few pioneers of music out there... especially in mainstream music. Hell even out of the mainstream in hardcore, black metal, death metal, underground hip hop... ALL OF IT... It's hard to not be a 'conformist' when so much has already been done. :)

Weak argument.... bands evolve. The thought that people will stay exactly the same for 15 years is ridiculous. Hell if I dressed the same and liked the same shit as I did 15 yrs ago I'd still be wearing my Ikeda overalls with half of the bib down with my Cross-Colours jacket and my Hypercolor t-shirt..... good thing I moved past it huh?
Besides you shouldn't criticize yourself considering that as much as you think you're different yourself you're just a conformist to every other travelling freak show on bmezine. :)

I should also add that I'm not really trying to cut you down (surprising, I know) but your criticism is so out of place because your are essentially the WORST type of conformist. You have an attitude about conformity so you try so hard to be different and fail to realize that you're just like every other punk kid out there who thinks that they're so different from everyone else.

Quit looking to bands for your inspiration and carve your own... let them do what they do. Unless you're pioneering something yourself you should really keep quiet about others not doing it themselves.
EDIT: Bands should NOT be paving the way for fashion/thinking in my mind either. Shouldn't that be secondary to the music they create? In the day and age of the music video image is definitely an integral part of the industry but it should most definitely not be the driving force behind it.
