I am a friend of Hugh's, as well I happen to work for him. Morally, when someone is attacking my friend's integrity, honesty and intentions, I feel the need to defend him on all angles where I see fit.

You really need to take a step back and look at the situation here. You're not the be all and end all of everyone's opinion, and just because you don't agree with my opinion doesn't mean I don't have the right to state it. Remember, our whole disagreement was over the fact that you felt as though I shouldn't have stated my opinion in defense of Hugh.
