Speaking of Rypien and the 4th line (who im in love with imo), has anyone seen Ryan fucking Johnson block like a million shots a game? This kid is insane! He should be on Jackass or something. I've blocked a lot of shots and even at the levels I've played at it fucking hurts to get even a wrist shot in the wrong place.

According to the Province today, he gets so much of a kick out of blocking shots he's doing it in practice just for the welts

Neither could Alain Vigneault, who openly admired Johnson's pluck but ultimately had to whisper "You don't have to do that" in Johnson's ear because the coach just can't afford to lose him to an injury at a morning skate.

It provides a window into Johnson's makeup and is an example of why he is one of the most important, and well-paid, fourth liners in the NHL. He is more than just a defensive specialist. He is a leader and he does it by example.

we were outshot but i think we heavily outchanced them.

notice how the sedin's were almost completely shut-down and irrelevant all game, and yet the other two lines stepped up? this is the kind of shit that we've lacked.

so stoked on the goal scorers tonight, all heart players. Raymond and Hansen especially.

Iginla is a LEAGUE recongnized fighter, Mitchell isn't on the same level, which is why we find it impressive. How are you even trying to talk about this, if you knew anything about hockey we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Don't get mad at me because you were wrong.

I looked it up because the statement jumped off the page at me. "What?? Mitchell is tiny compared to Iginla?? No he isn't!!" And btw, these things take about 30 seconds thanks to the power of the internet.

Meanwhile as to your other point, Mitchell definitely was looking impressive until Iginla got that left uncorked, and I give him all the credit in the world. That doesn't change the fact that Iggy landed a KO punch, a clean left to the jaw that buckled Willie's knees and, were there not two men in striped shirts ready to jump in and rescue him, would have allowed his opponent to rain down blows at will.

I can understand you making a case for Mitchell being tough and I'd even hear an argument that it was a 50/50 fight on balance. But don't tell me he was the clear winner and don't tell me he didn't get KO'd.

I've been watching hockey/ a Canucks fan since I was 2 years old. I've been watching boxing for about half that time, and I trained in it for about 3 years.

Oh and I guess we're not calling Mitchell tiny compared to Iginla anymore, now we're using our "women's intuition" about who is actually bigger.

Hey grapes, cutting my reply down to 'womens intuition' has to be the weakest reply yet of all the weak ass shit you post daily.

My point was, Mitchell controlling that fight was impressive considering he doesn't have the same strength, size, capability or history of fighting as Iginla. No one is disputing that Iginla came back with the heavy hit, that's expected and my entire point, he should have had the fight in the first place! PLEASE find me someone who will disagree with my assesment.

Being wrong and not being able to let it go is one thing, but bringing it down to the level of sexism is just about the most pathetic thing i've ever witnessed on fnk. congrats.
