Yah i think its a good idea to have someone like him on the mainstage, just not on the plaza of nations mainstage where it echoes horribly.

What is the scene coming too...BREAKZ on main stage....i bet 75 % of the crowd are trancer and dont wanna see some freak spin a set on new years...really dispointing but twisted hasnt had a very good line up in a pretty long time now that u think of it...or even if they threw swamp in the breakz room where he belongs not where the hard beat are susposed to be bumpin....

I think Kraig's close minded statement was bang on. I think swamp is a brilliant idea for the main room. Props to Twisted. Maybe this will raise the average age a little.

Wiggles -- I can guarantee ya bro that with what we have planned in the New Year, that could very well happen. -- And with that, I will say nothing more.
To further my reply earlier, I just got off the phone with Azim... We are putting Swamp in between the two Trance headliners, and all of our headliners are playing for ample time. Swamp having done his thing for a number of years is a professional (although he may come off as fucking crazy, I am sure the guy knows what he is doing). Having said that, he will "entertain" and "perform" appropriately. So kids... it is with nothing but "PLUR" when I say - pull your head outta your ass for a sec... sit back and enjoy something different for a change! -- It's New Years and it's all about having a good time with your friends to bring in 2004!

OK I kinda feel I have to throw my two cents in here as always. Everyone knows I have been around in this scene for awhile! I can't believe peps are making such a big issue out of one detail in what I would clasify as a flawless looking show comming up. I have never been to a party that I have been 100% happy with and to be honest I don't think I ever will. (Even if it's me putting it on. As long as I'm 95% happy witht he event then all is good in my world. Don't base an entire show on one issue cause bottoim line that is extremly closed minded. Twisted has yet to throw a shitty party in over 8 years of putting htem on. Keep in mind that no matter how good the Dj's are or how good the production is it is YOU the people that ultimatly create the vibe. Let make this New Years a good vibe for everyone. This post is not to say that everyone has the right to their own opinion but come on shake your heads a little and take a real long hard look at the rest of the line-up no matter whos playing where. I lok forward to seeing everyone at Twisted/Swing Kids New Years party and do me a favor wear as much White as possible trust me it'll make sense when you get there.

I was really surprised by all the negative responses to Swamp on the main stage -- but I don't think we are going to change anything. As most of you know I don't post on this forum, or any other for that matter, very often. But in this case, I want to make a point. Anyone remember Magic Mountain back in 2001? That was the first time I saw DJ Swamp -- and from someone who has been spinning for 7 years now -- he is the most talented DJ I have EVER seen, and he played on the MAIN STAGE.
I don't think there are many in Vancouver that can say they are a bigger Trance proponent / fan than myself, seeing as how for years other promoters put all types of music in the main room, and that it was Twisted that continually made the main room at the Plaza of Nations an exclusive Trance / Hard House stage. In saying all that, trust me when I say that Swamp in the main room is going to be off the hook, especially on New Year's Eve. For all you of who think that they are die-hard trance fans and won't come out because of a 1 - 1.5 hour SHOWMANSHIP (not breaks / jungle) set by Swamp, then your missing out. And for those who say that the sound is going to suck with breaks in the main room -- well believe me when I say that when Expo 86 was devised and the architect designed that building, he wasn't thinking about either breaks or trance or raves being in there for that matter. There will still be 8.5 - 9 hours of Trance in that room, so don't be babies. Hope to see you out.... Azim

Who cares about the main room Atomic Hooligan and Dopey have 10 times more talent than all those wack trance DJ's combined... HA!!
P.S. For all of you who keep calling Swamp a breaks DJ he's actually more of a rocker, he reminds me a bit of Z-Trip if he was on a lot (and I mean a LOT) of PCP. Also as said he's a serious entertainer, as is it looks like I might have to stop by the Plaza for a bit after all.

I was going to keep my mouth shut about all this but
Vancouver is a funny place I've seen countless requests that people want to see something different. Finally when someone does something different, there's a lot of complaints. Parties like this Trance/Hardhouse---------Main room Breaks/Jungle--------------BC Room House------------------------Theatre are great! But after going to party after party after party @ The Plaza of Nations its cool to see something different If Twisted didn't do anything different and stuck to the cookie cutter line up for every party then I would actually lose respect for them. Why not mix things up a little, ......think outside the box Just for once......just for 1.5 hours. There's more to parties then just Trance music. If you don't like Swamp go hang with your friends, meet some people, make out with someone in the theatre. You'll love it!! I miss raves where they used to have every kind of music all in the same room. No cliques, no attitudes, nothing like that. There is beauty in all music and I think Swamp will be a really cool show regardless of what he spins Azim, Kraig Don't let this negativity affect you bringing out Gwar for the next one. Ravers love Death Metal, blood and animal parts Don't let anybody tell you different

well since everyone else is throwing in there 2 cents here's mine...and i'm gonna cut to the chase.
Swamp on the main stage - is going to be fucking insane. All you trance pussies - sit back and watch a true performer for once not just some guy mixing records...this shit is what turntabalism dj'ing is all about - Swamp is a garaunteed party rocker. Otherwise the rest of the lineup is sick...i dont know much about the trance acts, but Atomic Hooligan is an amazing dj as well, and I dont even have to say a thing about the Bass-Sick Boys in the theatre room. On top of that, i'll be at the show not only playing but working technician duties as well....and even if i wasn't - i never say "no" to helping out at whereever i can if there is a production issue. I think every show i've attended whether playing or not, i've lent a hand with audio if something went wrong. This time i'll be there before hand and make sure things are solid on the first take. Its fuckin new year's and time to party - have fun!

95% of the people in the main coom couldn't give a rats ass about how much skill the guy has.
I agree with Agro though, I really miss the old 1 room parties where you got a bit of everything. Breaks early on, followed by house, then trance, then dnb to close things off. Those were good times.
