when i go to parties, the ONLY music i care about is trance! yet amidst all this controversy of having a breaks dj on the main stage, perhaps new years is the best time to try something different like this anyway. Maybe if twisted tried this on any other saturday night during the year, then this idea might not fare so well. but props to twisted for going against the grain here. im sure that they were expecting some sort of controversy anyway... so it shows they are NOT AFRAID to try something new. vancouver seriously needs to diversify its music culture anyway.
like mc hammered pointed out, most party-goers will be "under the influence" of something anyway due to the new years hysteria, and besides... since many of the dj swamp defenders claim that he should be classified as an "entertainer," then im sure he won't disappoint... especially since this is a NEW YEARS event. of all 365 nights during the year, im sure DJs will want to be at their BEST on one of the most hyped. While some of you "hardcore enthusiasts" of electronic music may be disappointed by the lineup, the truth of the matter is... most of the attendees will be drawn to this event because it is NEW YEARS, not necessarily due to the talent assembled. as for those who try to classify the "gangster population" of the main room as exclusively trance fans... thats kinda unfair. honestly, i think half the reason why ppl in the main like trance is because its played in the MAIN ROOM! they'd probably rather not go to the breaks or jungle room because its smaller, therefore less ppl. especially on new years... unless ur a "hardcore enthusiast" for breaks or jungle, who necessarily wants to hang out in a room with fewer ppl? plus all the hot gangster girls hang out in the main room... so most of the thugs dare not leave! haha... so my theory here is that no matter what kinda music is played in the main room (as long as its not country), mixed in with some extra "medicines", the atmoshere in the main room will be pumpin! as for the talent, PULSER and GTR definitely kick ass! ppl will be in for a treat to hear these rising trance superstars! but the diamond in the rough out of all this is... Jimboski! definitely a rising up-and-comer who's gonna put vancouver on the map in the trance world!! to see this sexy asian dj rock the house would be my number one reason for going! i might even take my shirt off! haha

man i dont see why people are complaining abotu the talent for this show..as far as im concerned this is one of the better lineups pulled together for a new years show in quite awhile. Perhaps the same people complaining would be happier if graham gold, ingo or fuckin jon the dentist was playing :soak: . Regardless this is a solid lineup.
as for those of you complaining about swamp being on the mainstage, get over it. Swamp will amaze all the trippers out on the mainstage, the guy is pure entertainment, i think its great move to have him on the mainstage as it may open up a few minds, and itll certainly impress a few people who otherwise wouldnt have known swamp even exists. like sean says 95% of the people in the main area dont have a clue, there just there to do drugs and have fun, i have buddies who are mainstage only people and tios not becasue they only like trance, its just because they don't have a clue, and they like the atmosphere(aka asian girls) of the mainstage....those boys would shit themselves seeing someone like swamp perform

Swamp on the mainstage is a great idea... I wouldn't classify him as any perticular genre, except maybe the "Freak" genre.... a real entertainer with mad skills on the decks.
We all know that the vibe of this party will be in the breaks room.... always is. Terry Hooligan and I are very stoked to rock it on the 2x4. Expect some serious Dubs from Tel and I. We got an arsenal of tunes that many of you haven't heard yet.... Big Tings! -soda

I don't know what the big deal is. People posting rebuttal after rebuttal.... I love how people complain how everything is the same... then complain again when something is changed. It's a New Year's Eve party. Shows can't be the same every year. I say give credit to Twisted for trying something new and different to offer the people a variety of entertainment. Go there... enjoy the show... ring in the New Year with friends. If not, stay at home and watch the tube as Dick Clark counts down. :hehe: The End....

breaks do not sound good inthe main room i dont think it is good idea and you will not be able to see what dj swamp can do doesnt matter if you have cameras on him.. it wont be the same breaks are meant to be in the (breaks room) Thats just my opinion!! Thanks

Finally a breaks headliner at Plaza in the main room! I've seen it at USC and it rocks. You'll be surprised how many ppl begin to enjoy new forms of music when there forced to listen to it.
Woot! I've never seen it happen and if my plans fall through I will attend. Time for all you trance heads to see some real dancing. I can only imagine the size of the breaker circle in the main room. Breaker Breaker 1-9 Clear the Line! `t1m

Alot of ppl on here don't remember or forget seeing Baby Anne on main stage at Nasty, guys comeon grow up I'm sure it will rock the show to see Swamp on Main stage at the Plaza of Nations...
Neways this party is gonna fuckin blow off the roof can't wait and a good one again by our friends at Twisted u guys rock... Pulser GTR Swamp Bassick boys Dj dopey vs G-nius and all of our fav locals to end this year of 2003...
