regarding the "possible" mid 13 civic, a type R is 2600lbs, those civic hatches are about 21-2200lbs, so the weight difference is there. i dunno bout the newer hatches, but the 92-95's could clock high 13's with a stock type R motor. usually that is a 20xxlbs hatch though... but it is possible, some people ACTUALLY drive that much better.

hey Bren, are you still running the stock compression in that thing?? Hondas are NOT hard to get into the 13's, you can turbo any of them, granted that you've lowered the compression and beefed up the internals, or you can just swap blocks and vtec heads around and toss it into a hatch. There are guys running 12's in an N/A civic hatch, with only a built up GSR motor, pushin just over 200hp... either way it all comes down to the $B$L$I$N$G$

yeah - compression is basically stock, the cams have been adjusted like 0.8 degrees but nothing too great. there has been no headwork dont internally, though that was next if i was keeping the car. there are a few 13 second civics out there. my friend KAKI runs low 13's in his ITR swapped SiR with full interior. his car is tuned to shit but has all the same mods that my new car has, but my car is lighter by like 300 lbs. im very confident ill be low 13's and maybe with the right tuning break 13 flat.

to those that like to compare hondas and mustangs. you are right - there will always be the fact that 5.0L of displacement has more potential for raw power than 1.8L. you gotta admit that seeing a N/A 1.8L four banger hit low 13's is a tuning accomplishment..........as the motor is putting out way more than its displacement in power.

but youre right - it does take more $$$ to get an import into low low times. but god its fun to show up a muscle car with a lawnmower. the looks i get :D

i would never buy a fox body mustang.. probably because its like the civic of muscle cars.. everyone has them.. and anything you do to it has already been done.

but yes there are some nice ones out there but still i would never buy one.
