See ya Jason King too.... This team is going to be so radically different to watch this year...... |

I liked Jason King, but Kesler ain't worth pretty much 2 milion.
goddamn bobby clark. i honestly hope we don't match the 1.9. thats a rediculous price for someone's who put up li ke 12 goals in 100 games. Regardless of potential. At least we know king can score and puts up decent numbers. Not to mention he was doing pretty well in the AHL last i checked. |

Oh yeah, let's pretend that we still had Brian Burke...what would you suppose he would do as GM? I think he would say "our offer is fair, take it or leave it" (referring to 1.9 over 2 years). He did good landing and KEEPING the twins here and plus keeping OHLUND. We did good by ridding of schaeffer...as Peter did not start producing until he LEFT vancouver. Basically, do Kesler a favour and let his potential rise as a *cough* star in *cough* philly.

this sucks on every level. i'd rather just take the 2nd rounder and hope for some luck. this team needs a skill forward for the future, not a plumber like ryan kesler.
if kesler blows up he can get a raise even. that sucks. even if he doesn't get a raise, we're still overpaying him at 1.9m to keep him. still with the risk that someone else bids at kesler and either takes him away or forces us to overpay for him again. OR we could have had anson carter get an easy 30goals with the twins because markus naslund only has a limited window to get some success. *let's face it. he isn't even at matt cooke's level. and cooke has good speed, effort, special teams and a physical game. we've all seen how many times cooke has choked on a breakaway and he still out scores kesler. i was actually happy at first. i thought we could drop kesler and just go after carter. |

whoah... k.. first off i agree that bobby clarke is a freakin moron.
But, Kesler can easily become a #2 or even a #1 center in the future. He produced 10 goals as strictly a 3rd/4th line center with no powerplay time all year. At the end of the year last season he seemed like the only one on the team with any spark. 1.9 million is way overpaid for him, but with your second round pick you get for him, you are taking a gamble on a possibilty of an nhl player when you already have one that hasn't even reached close to his potential. |
