Totally depnds what you're going for. Everything but the 240 and rx7 are out of the question though. If you're going for looks, i'd take the 240. It's a sexy car, hands down. Some women will look at the car and say, " That's a hot car, I'm gonna fuck that guy!".

If you plan on burning some tires, i'd take the rx7. On a limited budget the amount of hp you can pump out of that thing is absolutely unreal.
If you're not down with the gas bill, don't bother ,take the bitch (mr2) or the gts

I could handle the gas bill on a NA rx7 like I drove.. the guy said he doesn't even spend that much on gas, just don't drive it like an idiot everywhere. The turbo would probably eat my funds a lil much tho

yeah the 240 is a sexy car that's for sure.. modding possibilities are also endless and pretty easy to find. hmmmmm

but right off the bat the mr2 way outperforms all the 240s I drove. it goes both ways, so many pros/cons to think about. I dont like powersteering either, I guess I could take it out on a 240 but its already done in the mr2. also the gear box in most 240s is pretty clunky/big

once you drive windy roads with no power steering you can never go back !

the mr2 (this one particular) drove way the hell better than any of the 240s I drove.

but there are pros/cons to both sides.. 240 is definitely sexier. + more practical. it is a bit too common though. gear box in those rides also not nearly as smooth. Id have to yank the power steering too, yuck.

only thing holdin the mr2 back is the dorky styling , who cares about looks really tho haha

MR2 by far. Infact you can't even compair this to the other cars on the poll because its the only rear wheel, mid engine car. The way a preformance car was meant to be.

The Mark I (1986-89): Originaly designed by Lotus in the late 70's (just looks at the body!). This car is very low to the ground, and does not have power steering, or power assist steering. This is just like driving a street legal go-kart. In 88 they came out with the Supercharged model, just to make it even more fun. A Lotus, with Toyota dependability.

The Mark II (1991-95):
Haven't driven one yet. However they are bigger, but also more powerfull. The 91s to 93s are kind of iffy. The 94s and 95s N/As would be my preferance. Not only did they have all the bugs worked out by then, but it looked slick too (better looking stock tail lights and other little things).

The Mark III (1997-2005): Apperence is similar to the Porsche Boxter. As far as I know, there is only 1 in Canada (here in Vancouver) and it was moded SO badly. He had to import it as a "kit or project" car. It even LOOKS terrible. Every pannel is spray painted a different colour. The Mk III does not meet Canadian colision requAccording to Americans that have showed up to some of the club meets, it handles just like the Mk I.

Edit:

if your going to go with MR2 go supercharged.... i've driven tons of thoes cars and they are nothing without the supercharger... if your going to go with one though be prepared for the money pit.... the Mid Engine isn't exactly the cheapest thing to repair and you are looking at a 18 year old car so stuff definitly will go wrong

240's are all round nice cars i had one and loved it

ever considered a 80s 300zx? i drove an 85 (i think) 25th aniversary edition turbo and it was by far the fastest car i have ever drove... much faster than a 5L mustang... and nice interior as well

anything is faster than a mustang lmao.

the weird thing about this mr2, was it felt faster than my civic and my civic had 170-180HP .. then again the b16 only has like 118 torque

ya I actually just started noticing those old Zs, they go for pretty damn cheap and they seem like great cars. 280z or 300z. I should really drive one. Ahhh its too bad there was such a nice local one goin for cheap but it was auto!

they were datsuns in early 80s, anyone know when it officially switched to nissan?

^ You drove a Mk I. Which is super light, and the engine in the back REALLY makes a difference lol.

Dean: That's not true. The Supercharged MR2's don't handle the corners as well. Its been proven at last year's MR2 Auto-Cross.

3k obo for the GTS (I wouldnt offer a penny more than 2k, after talkin to the girl for quite some time seems like I could get it for that much)

4300 obo for the mr2, we agreed on 3700 .. but now Im having 2nd thoughts about it. (can't haul my bike.. my snowboard.. my clubs..)

the 2 , 240s in question are 3900 obo (89 red, 91 black)

the rx7, 88 , really mint fully stock.. 3500 we agreed 2800 would be fine.

thennnnn I happen across this b2200 down the road, two tone orange and grey paint, same colors two tone interior (nice not tacky) 89 5spd, 170k, air ride susp (looked pimp slammed/parked!), chrome rims, etc .. only 3k obo! definitely would get it inspected, but id be able to haul all my shit around real easy and I already have a sub box custom fitted to that truck + an amp.

hmmmmm..

Well you said "if your going to go with the MR2 go Supercharged." Which isn't good advice. Plus only the 88s and 89s were Supercharged. The Mk IIs had Turbo instead.

getting a SC one over an NA one is good advice. and it's obvious that we are only talking about mki because you can tell by his other options that a mkii is out of his price range

well the b2200 was a bust, engine needs a rebuild.

What do you peeps think about an 87 supra?? 225km, 5spd, wine red, not sure if its turbo doesn't say.. Im gunna call him. 3700obo if its non-turbo, should be alright on gas no?

Hiya

Supra's are nice driving cars, but very heavy, so it'll drive more like an american car (not a plus!) and watch for the head gasket on them, as it's a pricey fix!

Its all good I got the mr2 :D just need to pick up some subs for the trunk, not sure yet.. subs make ur car slower.

man this nice weather is sooo nice with Ttops. weeeeeeeeee !

the supra was a bust too, needs a new clutch. got lots of power for an NA car but I think its a money pit. Too bad too cuz they are sexy as hell. espcially if I threw nice rims on it, ah well.

I have a 91 crx, but I would say that the rx 7 or the mr2 would be my choice.

240 is a little more sluggish but do have quite the following and the toyota GTs just not my fav

that's cool man what kinda subs + dimensions did you use?

I was almost thinkin of takin out the back piece of that centre console and runnin 2 , 8's sorta stacked on top of eacho..

but I took the sub box I had in my old b2200 .. which was already slanted and customized it a bit and it fits perfectly in the front trunk .. just room for 1 ten though, and I dno how that would sound bein all closed off ?

unfortunately, I crashed the car into a tree (duh) when I was showin it off to my friend a lil too much on a road i didn't know. :( It's fine though, just needs a couple front exterior peices. so I'm gunna re-paint it all gun metal grey and put some nicer rims on it.. etc.. Ill post pics when she's done.

^Yeah dude it was pretty bonehead.

Went way too fast into a corner, and didn't realize how easy these things skid. If I was drivin my civic woulda been fine, but with the engine behind the seats there's no weight up front.. so I slammed the brakes and just skidded off the road and hit a tree. Still drives, just needs some pieces.
