the best one i was ever at, my friends threw back in like 2000 or something. It was called " enlighten", and it was at an abandoned transalta utilities building.
There was a giant glowing Louie the lightening bug in one corner.Three floors. Dj Czech i believe was on the top floor. It was pretty crazy. In order to go to it, you had to be invited.YOu got a piece of paper with diredctions on it, that directed you to a place where people decided if you got the real location address or not. From there, you drive to the venue, park your car in a tall field of grass so no cops see them, and walk to the building. From the outside, you couldn't tell anything was going on in there. Free bottled water. Onlty thing that sucked was there were long waits for the bathrooms sometimes. It was probably one of the craziest nights of my life. Serotonin, were you there? |

Someone should fill me in on some underground parties, 'cause damn, I miss them. I think the last one I was at was Mad Beat$, which was like 6 months ago.
Best one I've been to to date: Kick It Back. Had to call the infoline, go through a checkpoint, and take a shuttle bus to the venue, which was a warehouse; Total old-school style for sure. Not to mention the big crowd, tight people, and killer tunes all night. |

i went to a hiphop show. we rendezvoused at some empty corner and called a number. got picked up by an h2 and was taken to a side entrance to a warehouse in south van that was off the hook. And the walk back to our cars was only 1 or 2 blocks. it was ghetto but tight because it was strictly hip hop. liquor flowed and a shitty fight ended the party. it's always the guido's and barstars that ruin parties.
I also like phase 1. party in a laser tag center?! And the few douglas parties that I went to were interesting! And Clean! |

well timed.
I was at a really good all-night techno show last night. So I dunno what you guys are talking about. The parties are there. They just aren't very often advertised on FNK. My guess is because of the steady influx of 15-year-olds on this site that many promoters who want to throw hush-hush parties decide not to advertise here. |

Honestly, if you're throwing a party where you're not just letting anyone in, you have effective security that's keeping tabs on the party, it's not populated by a bunch of underage kids on drugs, and you're not bothering the neighbors, the cops really won't care.

I love it when your very question has already been asked in a forum, you don't have to wait for a reply.
Where have all the undergrounds gone? Okay, so it's been established that they are around, just not on FNK. FNK used to be my one stop weekend planning HQ. Anyone here go to "It's Not So Random"? That party was great, everyone was cool and friendly, no problems at all. One of the best parties I've been to, even though there was no reb bull or equivalent. So, now, I hear of nothing without FNK. Word of mouth? Networking has never been a stong point for me. If the concern is "morons" showing up at the venue and being retarded. No shortage of people like that, I can totally understand. FNK has been growing it would appear. Many of the newbies are not an intergral part of the underground scene and end up causing trouble because they don't care about anyone but themselves and success is graded by havoc. Not their back yard. PMs with centers for undergrounds in vancouver would be appreciated. I respect people, their property, their feelings, and I want everyone to have a good time, not just me. Perhaps I can even be of assistance. I know a great deal about electronics at the circuit board level, audio equipment, and for 2 years have been an apprentice electrician. I'd be happy to help the underground scene give good people who love the music and love to dance an alternative to $50 an up mainstream parties. |

I more define "underground" as "not legal" (aka not Riverside/MLC/PNE/etc.), but that's just me. Most underground shows that have flyers and out of town DJs and what not, still don't get busted. Of the 6 or so that I've been to, only Renavarti got busted.
