Girls Image of Beauty?
Sorry I know this is maybe been beat to death a bit, but I just DON'T understand the reasoning behind girls having this false sense of "skinny" is beautiful. Don't get me wrong, I'm not hatin on skinny girls I'm just sayin..
I had a party last night and I have this "thicker" girl on my desktop pic.. not even fat, but just nice and curvy and all the girls were like OMG she's soooo ugly.. holy cow.. get a diff picture on there.. so they go on and change it to this heroin addict supermodel pic that's just disgusting. Then one girl I've been seein, is a lot like the girl in description A ^ and the whole night she's like wahh wahh I'm working out all the time because I want to be skinnier. I tried tellin her I've lost interest in girls before when they've done that, but she didn't seem to listen. *ugh* Sorry I'm just ranting here.. feel free to throw out any opinions. |

What I was trying to say, is thicker girls shouldn't FEEL like they need to be skinny to look good. I rarely seem to meet any girls with a lot of self confidence, I guess sometimes that's good hahahah j/k.. |

But in the end, it's all just physical.
Oh, and by the way, losing interest in a girl because she's gotten skinnier makes you no different from the girls who changed your desktop. It's still shallow, regardless of the fact that it's opposite the norm. A body is simply a vessel for what is really important. |

Tiedye^ Again.. this thread wasn't meant to be shallow, it's a mental thing if you get what I'm saying. I lost interest in the girl because she wasn't mentally confident enough for me. Call me lame, but Id rather fall in love with somebody mentally, THEN physically.

Well you said to throw any opinions out there; that's mine. You can't expect a girl to be confident if she doesn't feel she's met the prerequisites of confidence that have been taught to her by the media since she first began to comprehend the concept of beauty. If she was working out to lose weight, as opposed to starving herself or through drug use, just to obtain that confidence then I can't see it being anything but healthy. By breaking it off because of that, all you did was add to that lack of confidence.
As for the falling in love with someone mentally, I agree. Although you can't logically disagree that physical attraction doesn't play a key role in the initial stages since male body chemistry reacts to visual stimulant much faster than it does mental. We are spiritual beings, but live in a physical world. Of course physical attraction plays a key role. The girl I was talking about that I lost interest in, was just a floosy to begin with. Hey, if it makes her happy to be skinny, then she's meant to be with a guy who likes skinny girls I guess. I guess I should happy for the girl I'm seeing, because at least she's working out and makin herself uhh.. tight instead of skinny I guess you can put it. ;) Either way, I don't really care because it's the first genuine mental connection I've had in a while. ps. Why does love have to drive you crazy ? Ah........... pps. sorry I know nobody cares, this is what happens when you start drinkin at 8am. |

and it doesn't make you any less shallow if you say that you prefer a thicker girl over a thinner girl |

^ MEH.. call me shallow all you like. I know I'm not. Anyone who's met me knows Im a real person. Like I said earlier, you're kidding yourself if you don't think looks play a key role in falling in love with somebody. Everyone has a "type". People who are married didn't walk up to that girl/guy because they thought "oh I bet we're gunna make a splended mental connection, I don't even care that I'm not physically attracted to her! Ill pretend!"
