Road to the Playoffs!
To begin, I think we're going to the fucking STANLEY CUP FINALS BABY!
What we lost in Bertuzzi we got in Pyatt and Smolinski. But with these new guys we have large net presence in front of the net over two lines. Improved Defense and an amazing Penalty Kill. All 4 of our lines have scoring potential. We can only hope Cowan will continue to score or at least generate points. Edmonton and Calgary had their chance at the big silver cup. This is our year! What do you guys think? Any doubts? |

I don't really agree on pyatt and smolinkski being like. Sure pyatt is big. Bertuzzi was a way bigger force when on his game. He has more skills than smolinski too but only when he was actaully on his game. What we got for bertuzzi was a new defensive awareness. Thats what I see. Defence we seem to never have year in year out. Its always been offense first than defense. Or in the early and late 90's n o defense period. All our players are defensively sound and playing to their coach *mignon*'s system perfectly. |

True. And now we have a lot of offensive power in our Defense. Salo's shot is a laser beam. Ohlund's slapper is good too. Bieksa and Sopel don't mind stepping into the play and our forwerds do a good job in recognizing this and covering. It's fun hockey to watch.

when Bertuzzi was on with his A game he was in my opinion the most dominant player in the game. Taylor Pylon and Smolinksi and no where near that.
anyone remember Bertuzzi on Jackman in the St Louis series? one hit changed the momentum of the whole series. As for a playoff run this year I got to say I like what I see but it's still a long shot. |

Yeah when you weigh up what's going down right now, Id probably have them as the favorite regardless of standings. We've been beaten up on all the best eastern teams, honestly think NJ would be the only team that could beat us in a series over there. Playoffs are alwaaays a different story though, so you can never tell.
Luongo = 22-1-4 or somethin like that since xmas?? Ridiculous!! |
|
|||
^ ya before christmas he was like 17-15-2. Being only 2 games over .500 he's adjusted quite well as the season has gone on.
The main thing about the Canucks defence. Is they are good at making the long stretch pass. Salo is good at it, ohlund. Bieksa obviously from last game even sopel. They use it at opportune times too |

Luongo is on fire! He's like the best goalie in the whole NHL right now. Cause of him the Nucks set a new francise record last night for most wins in a season.
I see us going very far in the playoffs. And then there's Cowen 6 goals in 4 games damn! Shine up the cup, its coming home to Vancouver BABY!! |

The Canucks won 46 games in 1991 and they won 45 in 2002. p.s: were one win away from matching our wins from last seasons pityful season. |

^ Details details is right. There is a big difference between setting single season record for wins, and single season record for wins by a goalie.
Still we potentially have a good chance of winning 47 or 48 games. Possibly even 50 though a long shot. p.s: buddy Anaheim is a west team. |
