I went for the first time last weekend with some friends, we all paid cover and left within 10 mins of being inside...


and whats with the white bouncer with the shaved head who walks around like hes about to get into the UFC cage and puffs his chest out?

those are usually the reasons i find ppl dont have fun at lotus

Considering i am at red room every saturday, i don't think my taste in music was the problem with lotus..

im guessing you spin there sometimes?

Red Room's a totally different style of music. Most nights they're more on the progessive side of house. Lotus on Saturday's is house/electro/techno. Usually by about midnight that place is packed. If you were there on a Friday they usually play progressive.

I haven't been to Lotus on any other night, but their posters pretty muc say they all play mainly house and electro.

lotus is one of the best clubs for electronic music in the city, for sure.

gets packed, drinks aren't expensive, nice people.

don't know what happened to you, but if you like the red room, sounds like you like waiting in lines for a really long time while they let 'guest list' people inside only to find out after they finally let you in that the club is less than half full. just speaking generally of course.

Even fun during the week. The nights are usually a lot thinner, but later on into the nights you get the real crazies. It's awesome.

Wanted Thursdays has become a pretty wild night in its own right... Tons of guest DJs.... Alexander Robotnick, Detroit Grand Pubahs, Noah Pred.... they have Smash TV tonight, I might try and go to that...

I love lotus, but I have noticed security being a bit more dickish than usual lately.

Other than that, I have zero complaints...Signal Saturdays is still pretty much my favorite clubnight in Vancouver, Thursdays ahve been bringing out some wicked talent, Wednesdays can be decent and there's nothing wrong with Fridays either. Way better than Red Room, IMO. Fun, laid-back mixed crowd, cheap drinks, banging sound, subterreanean atmosphere...

Are you the guy who was at the Plaza last night at 10pm, asked the bar tender what was wrong and why hardly anyone was there, so you said you were going to take your crew to the lotus thinking there was a bigger crowed there at that time of night?

Most electronic nights dont get going until midnight... even the red room on Saturdays. The lotus offers some great electronic nights through out the week with great talent. The staff are pretty cool too and I find they fit in just right for what the club represents. Very rarely have I ever felt any staff member was rude or gave me attitude. My only problem with the club is the actualy physical space... its a dark sweaty cement dungeon and after 1am broken glass is usually stuck to the bottom of my shoe.

Signal @ Lotus is my favorite night in Vancouver so far, good music and peeps who come to get down, always had good times.

You forgot to mention it has some of the best sound in Vancouver. And really, better than most similar venues I've been to in Toronto.

you think that guy is bad? i used to work security there and the head doorman was a real jerkass.

Nope that wasn't me.. my friend has a place in the highrise 1 min down the street from lotus.. we went to lotus and then to redroom..

You gave me 2 tickets to plaza in the backroom, but you most likely wouldn't remember that...

I have never been to the plaza, how is it?

I don't really remember the sound system too much..

Gorg has an amazing sound system though... best i've heard
