vegetarians that eat fish

Personally, I don't care if other people choose to eat meat because it's your choice. It's my CHOICE to be a vegetarian. I hate vegetarians/vegans who try to force their opinions on others, just like I hate people who force their religions on others. However, meat-eaters also need to respect OUR choice to be vegetarian, and should not expect us to "pick out the meat" - especially those of us who have a moral objection to eating meat and animal products. I can guarantee you that more meat-eaters give vegetarians a hard time about their dietary choices than the other way around.

I believe her arguement is that since Human's don't have to kill for food anymore, it's immoral.

Carnivours in the animal kingdom have no choice, since it's not like they could ill a field.

I don't think I'd miss red meat or poultry, but fish... I want to eat fish cause I like sushi too much. I couldn't give up sushi.

But I could kill a fish with my hands and be o.k. with it. I couldn't do that to a cow or a pig or a chicken... this thread made me feel guilty.

It's been said already in this thread that those who eat fish/seafood but no other animals are called pescatarians NOT vegetarians. You wouldn't call a tyrannosaurus rex an omnivoire because it was NOT, it was a carnivoire. So why call a pescatarian a vegetarian?

Actually, people who refuse to eat animal by-products are called "vegans", not "vegetarians"..

Why call them a vegetarian? Because it's fucking easier when someone is trying to cram bacon down your throat to say "I'm a vegetarian" than to say "I'm a pescatarian" and have to go off on a big essay, citing latin dictionaries or journal articles or whatever as to what the fuck a pescatarian eats...

don't get me wrong, i think it's great that you or anyone else is a vegetarian. i don't want to change your mind as far as being a vegetarian. i just think the "moral" justification is patently ridiculous. and for the record, i don't categorically respect beliefs because they're beliefs. that's just plain silly.
