Honestly, people that dont have any problem with eating typical mass farmed food have got issues. I cant believe that so many of you are blissfully ignorant to the treatment of farm animals. Survival is one thing and compassion is another.

Should you have to be a vegetarian? NO you can eat what you want, but for some people to not give a fuck about an animal that is treated the way some farms treat their animals is sick and fucked up.

Really I dont care. But if your going to go off and claim that a vegetarian shouldn't even buy products made of animals that were killed... you might want to look further into what you are trying to preach.

ps: I think you have a lot of nerve trying to fool the people who have known and seen YOU for the passed 7 years.
I was given a FAKE LV wallet that is plastic.
My Roberto Vianni shoes are cork and plastic.
As for the leather patches on jeans, I never thought about that. So I guess you've got me there. Feel better?

I am not preaching anything. I am stating MY beliefs.

I am not instructing anyone to believe what I do. I feel how I do about this subject, and that's it. You being rude, accusatory and, IMO, totally overstepping your bounds on the subject is immature and insulting. Don't you have anything better to do than pick apart someone's beliefs? Rhia, you barely know me anymore. I can count on one hand the number of times I have seen you in the last two years. I'm just appalled at the fact that you can sit behind your computer screen and blatantly disrespect someone who you supposedly call your friend. But, again, I guess it all comes down to our morals, and I choose to respect my friends and not nitpick their beliefs.

Why call them a vegetarian? Because it's fucking easier when someone is trying to cram bacon down your throat to say "I'm a vegetarian" than to say "I'm a pescatarian" and have to go off on a big essay, citing latin dictionaries or journal articles or whatever as to what the fuck a pescatarian eats...

Honestly, why do you give a shit? It's as pointless as crap like "What's a REAL raver". What's a REAL vegetarian? Please. Just let people use the bloody word. It's not like you patented it.
My issue with pescatarians calling themselves vegetarians is that a lot of people assume that vegetarians eat fish/seafood. How much fun is it for me when I am at a dinner party and they've thoughtfully cooked me salmon or prawns because I'm a "vegetarian"?

I don't think it's that difficult for someone to tell people they are a pescatarian. "I'm a pescatarian. It's like a vegetarian except pescatarians eat fish and seafood but no other meats." When I was 11/12 I explained this just fine (didn't go full veg til 13) - so I think it's fair to assume that if a child can explain it so simply, adults should be able to do the same.

Edit: Those who are vegetarians for moral reasons will usually not eat or wear by-products which were obtained by killing the animal (like gelatin, cochineal, etc.). Those who do not eat or wear ANY animal by-products (like dairy, honey, wool, silk, etc.) are called vegans.

I think wood wins this thread. Even tho I care about the well being of other animals I still wear leather shoes, a bit of hypocrisy, yes but at the same time I'm more concerned about the hormones and drugs that farmed animals are exposed to before that disgusting slab of meat hits your plate-- dairy products included. One can only do so much to regulate what they consume on a daily basis... Sometimes half my trip to the grocery store is spent reading the ingredients on the back of food packaging. I can honestly say that I eat a lot of stuff made from soy protein and I'm 100% sure that it has zero animal biproducts,,, sometimes the odd thing slips by like foods that contain gelatin or whey. In those cases I'm not going to lose any sleep over it, 'cause I know that I'm not contributing to the meat industry on a big scale. Meat used for mass consumption is not my way to go 'cause I know more than the average human of how its produced. I'm not a vegan 'cause i love eating fish (mostly wild salmon, shrimp and crab) which I make sure is not farmed again because I don't want drugs and hormones in my foods. For me it's more a healthy choice than a moral choice even then I couldn't look a baby cow in the eye and say "mmmm veal!" That's just disgusting.

I also believe that the meat/dairy industry will implode just because a few of us chose not to eat meat. Make your decision based on your own values and beliefs and don't preach this sort of stuff to people because most of them don't give a shit or even want to see it as a problem.

I was just thinking, wouldn't the harmful byproducts from the production of plastics, actually do more harm to the enviroment overall then killing induvidual animals?

EDIT: Whups, I nevermind, found an article coutnering that.
