What is it like owning two dogs?
I have been asking people questions about owning more than one dog and much more or less difficult it would be.
I'm planning on buying another pug for my dog bentley. Bentley is extremely social and loves other dogs especially pugs! I want to buy another dog b/c not only do I love the breed but I want my dog to have a partner in crime. The questions i've been asking are, Will it be double the work taking care of two dogs as oppose to one? I know theres now going to be double the food, double the bathing, two leashes, two kennels, two sets of shit to pick up etc. The main concern is, will bentley rely on that other dog to play more than myself or my friends? I can give bentley a bone and he will piss off for an hour and forget about me. If I give him a friend to play with will he spend most of his time socializing with the dog? Or is that wishful thinking? |

dogs are good when you are a good pet owner.
if you can't take care of a dog properly by training it and such, then it will be a nightmare. however if your current dog respects you and doesnt act out, wreck things or anything like that then you will probably be fine. |

but seriously..
one thing you probably know about pugs though is that theyre generally quite emotionally needy. i lived with a pug and a long-haired chiwahwah (i know i spelt it wrong) and the pug was constantly trying to steal the others attention because it never felt loved enough. this may be different with two pugs, but its something to think about. you might want to see how it interacts with you while other samll and cute doga are around. |

Maybe if he had a friend he would do more puppy things. Instead of watching tv, listening to music, etc w/ me, he could fight over toys, cuddle, and lick air with his new friend. Oh and Bevvy, those girls are out there you just havent found the right one yet. |

Mateo I've read positive experiences from people who have two pugs. It's best to introduce the second one once the other is grown and fully potty trained. Pugs get along great together and usually run in packs and tire each other out pretty quick. My boston has the same sort of mentality as them.
If you have access to a place that you can let them wrestle i think the two pug thing would work. |
