i work on hastings and bute and theres this huge skyrise going up on the corner and one of the workers fell(i don't know how high, but HIGH) and literally exploded on the ground! theres pieces of him attached to glass he smashed through and a few feet of blood splattered up the side of the building!

just happened like an hour ago maybe. really creepy. and really sad :cry:

i hope so too. it was absolute chaos out there. guys screaming, people running around, dozens of police, ambulance, and firetruck vehicles. i can't imgaine having had to be right in the middle of that.

you're suppose to check your gear for rips before you put it on - they wont snap if there is no rip

the snowbird comparison is way off, although they've said it was possibly his fault for not being buckled in properly

your right I dont know what happened but I know the rules that are in place to stop it from happening - you aren't allowed within 10 ft of an open edge with out a harness - all the tie offs are tested and inspected

ugh, this sucks no matter what happened. Even if it was the guys fault.

If it was his fault he mis-judged... no one deserves to die from mis-judgment. Many of us have made bad decisions in the work place, and thankfully we are still alive. I feel really bad for this guy.

you can't make judgements like that until you know exactly what happened. shit goes wrong. people die in car accidents even when they're wearing their seatbelt. stuff explodes without warning. people have brain aneurysms out of the blue.
