what's the age...
that you should beging to re-evaluate your current style?
My friends often talk about this..i'm almost 22 and I often find I dress like i'm 16 because I go for the funky/fun look... We think long hair might be a teenage thing or an old haggered milf thing...i recently just got mine cut and I look and feel way more fresh/sophisticated..Now I love my clothes but i'm thinking there might be an age i'm going to have to tone it down..WHAT IS THAT AGE? |

wow 22... better get you some slacks and orthopedic shoes soon.
Generally I would say ones style slowly changes with there age, so I wouldn't put much thought into it imo. Wear whats comfortable and suits you. I dont understand this whole thought process were people feel that once they hit a certain age they need to act differently and look different. If your fun/ funky person then dress it, and if work needs a more conservative look then go buy come more conservative clothes to wear there. |

I think about this too. as I am a twenty two year old youth myself.
but as long as I am a broke-ass student, improving on my current tshirt and jeans regime isn't the biggest priority. college kids get a "home-free" card for fashion i think. it's only fair. |

I think it also depends on the industry you are working in. I find when I'm working in a more corporate environment, I am more hesitant to buy "casual, fun" clothes because I am at work 40 hours a week and I feel like I should be buying more "professional" clothing. Luckily, I can get away with doing a funky business casual at work.
I do go through a monthly closet purge where I try to get rid of old items that I don't wear anymore to make room for new items though. I find it helps keep your wardrobe up to date and gives room for growth. |

Okay, this is very easy. The very first time that you see somebody more than 4 years your junior wearing something similar to your clothes and you think, "God, that kid looks like a complete tool." That right there, that's when you need to change your style.

i just turned 22 and kinda made some changes in my personal life rather than the way i dress.. i think attitude reflects more than what you wear.. i'm in school and not a proffesional yet, so i go out all the time in my jeans and a shirt.. but it's fun to dress nice occasionally then all your friends can tell you how great you look. I'm thinking in a few years when i settle down and have to look professional if i must i can use these years and be myself.

courtney, i have only just been forced to grow up with my wardrobe as i took a very corporate position and i am 27. i have never been a person to dress up, and have always been fortunate to wear whatever i like. i always kept staples in my wardrobe, but now i am finding i am wearing those staples out. i am starting to build a dressier wardrobe now.
but the thing i found i never had, was nice shoes. a good pair of shoes can really make an outfit. i always wore flats, which can dress down an outfit. so start with a nice pair of simple black pumps. |
