How did B-Traits rise so quickly

I believe B-Traits started DJing for the public only within the last few years. How did she rise so quickly and now playing parties worldwide?? She even headlines some of them too. Craziness!

Not to mention I saw her on the Vegoose 2007 line up as well.

Whats her secret? What did she do thats different amongst all the other local DJs in Vancouver which allowed her to be ahead of the game??

I'm just curious... but other than that, mad props!!!

yea.. i do think local DJs in van should learn from her strategies, i now have a shit load of respect for her becuz she's the kind that make things happen and will make it big...

i believe theres a reason why some djs are locals and why some are now headliners.. B-Traits showed that it is possible to get big if you're willing to think big and make it happen

at first i totally thought she was a relative or sth of some world class agency or dance company :P

There are a few locals that have reached pinnacle status throughout the world, the most notable being Mathew Johnson, Tyler Stadius and Dave Armstrong.

she was signed almost 2 years ago to Formation by SS, alongside her amazingly talented partner MC Kay as LTC (Ladies Take Control)
I believe that name was dropped and they tour on their own now

I also thought that she probably got an agent, therefore became where she is now. Now my question is.. why don't some of the other local DJ's do the same? just give it a shot and see what happens!

Isn't that pretty much one of the ways you can get big as a DJ anyways? for those who dream to DJ as a career

its not about just an agent. SS worked hard to help them get where they are. agents don't do that

i don't know bre at all but from my understanding she's had a lot of good help along the way. right person, right time, right friends, looks, and drive all at full tilt. that's what i figure anyway. correct me if i'm wrong.

As I recall, she had her first Vancouver gig at Good Sundays @ Vibes Lounge :).

Success in the industry is based on a lot on luck, oppourtunity, contacts, and image.

But it's also based on talent, perseverance, dedication, and hard work.

Bri has all those qualities in spades and deserves her spot.

it felt like it wasnt so long ago she made a thread about picking her dj name. lol. i dont know her too well, but i think her drive and passion is definately a huge part that brought her to where she is now..and she will just get more and more successful. it's so nice nowadays how you can find role models around your own age range.. congrats congrats bri!

BINGO, I knew when I saw those two girls join as one they had something different to offer. Bre deserves a lot more credit than just her looks. Ive seen a lot of dj's who are "hot" and there is only so far you can go. I think it was a sweet thing of time, marketing, who she knew, and who she was teaming up with. I don't know her well, but when talking about this kind of thing with her, she really seems with it and on the ball.
