I'd say with the advent of their label they probably have some sort of trademark or registered copyright on the word.

It's not catering to the same people as the rest of the club
Sonar, fabric is catering to the gangsters. posers or actual.

as I said before, working at sonar.. i've never worked a club where there was a huge fight happening every 20 minutes.

I haven't been inside since it was sold, I drive/walk by it everytime. But I'll still refer it now as the OLD Sonar, until they change the name to "Shithole"

i went there a few weeks ago on a whim cause a friend of a friend was playing records upstairs...

blah bha bleh

lols, another one for those days was the 'pound' nights at palladium...fuck those were fun and that was a great club.

Really? I personally hated the place. Awkward layout made for an always-packed dancefloor and lots of space EVERYWHERE ELSE in the club, thus making it not look very packed regardless of how little dance room you had. I always found myself looking for the door at that place.

For me, I think it was more the acts that were booked - and the personal impact. Crossfade fridays there was the highlight of the clubbing scene for me in the early '00s - soooo many good acts booked there...

wasnt inside when it was the town-pump, that was before my time...

was the layout any different under the town pump banner?

its a shame that its flailing so much. its in such a prime spot and has soooo much potential

timing has a lot to do with it for me too - I just moved back to town and was just getting into the Vancouver club scene in 99-01ish and Sonar was the place I would always go just for the acts booked.

That DJ Food & DK show back in late 01 is still one of my favorite shows of all time. I was pissed that they skipped Vancouver for the tour they did in 07 :-\
