basically went there tonight and we were treated like a bother. the hostess barely looked up from her reservation book and had no charm or even bothered to look any of us in the eye or smile, let alone make small talk.

waiter dude comes by and just sticks out his hand when he walks by like a fucking mute, signifying he wanted our order about 10 seconds after another person dropped off the paper.

at one point later in the night the dude is just unloading our food onto the table like he's shoveling shit and as he's reaching he almost elbows me in the face, but says nothing

anyway, i didn't feel like ordering drinks or staying that late because it felt like a cafeteria and went home to smoke weed instead

CLIFFS: the shabusan staff people is retarded, and the decor looks like something out of fucking Save By the Bell.

We went these as a group of 6. not a problem. some took the all u can eat. unfortunately, the stuff came well after the "normal meals", and then all at the same time. not very pleasant.
waiters appear to be some mildly retarded ESL student, who sometimes barely get what the customer want. Maybe it's my accent? On another occasion, 3 people went for the yakiniku. that was ok, very generous portions of meat.
All you can eat, not worth it; menus, worth it!

I can recomend a ton of great japanese resturants for service. However, none of them are establishments where the goal is to eat till your sick. It's a buffet masqurading a japanese resturant, don't expect the best service.

That being said, Top Gun in New West, has always had great service when I went there. It's been a couple years since I went there though, so they are probably burnt out from idiots demanding 300 california rolls for $15.95, then complaining about service.

I think the real question is why the hell would you go to Shabusan? That place sucks pretty bad. But i'm chinese so eating azn food is a daily thing for me. To me Shabusan sucks really bad but for somebody who is not Azn it could be good....
