id much rather walk into a dealership and drop money on the table and drive out with my wheels.

on the other hand.. i could buy the car pre-modified.. and we all know how tacky buying someone else's personal expressions is.

maybe this would suit my drop top old guy standards...
yea i hear that, but i didnt mean a pre-mod. i would buy the car clean and for the quarter million dollars i could get a supercar for, i could spend half that and pay a reliable shop to tune it for me to my specs and parts. and i wouldnt feel comfortable attempting to drift an f430 or anything anyways, cause 1 holy fuck thats alot of money to be ripping around on, and 2 id look lieka fuckin goof

man that car was dope.

if chrysler actually kept making decent cars like that instead of merging with benz, focusing on pieces of shit and building trucks they probably wouldn't be on the verge of bankruptcy right now.

that goes for all of the big three, fuck those fools

drifting is gay, learn how to actually take a corner.

and how the fuck do you expect to drift in a sube? unless you lock the diff and ruin everything that car has going for it its pretty hard to drift an awd car even with shitloads of power.

you might as well save your money buy a late model f-body with the ls1 engine, all the money you save can be spent on developing a mullet, buying butt rock cd's and supporting your crystal meth addiction.

please dont tell me your one of those people that think the point of drifting is to look cool :amuse:
team orange (one of the top drift teams) runs sube, and theyr damn fast (not alot of cars are as stable as one with a flat4)

and yes they lock their front.

if you drive around a corner the right way you are much faster then a drifter could ever be.

have you ever wondered why F1 drivers don't drift, even lowly ass touring cup racers don't drift. Drifting is flamboyant and cool to look at but it wont win races.

drifting is the japanese equvilent of NASCAR.

p.s. the whole fuckin point of racing is to maximize traction!

actually drif technique was created to demolish downhill grip technique, and before awd became popular in japan, drifters wiped grip drivers all over the place. the idea of drift is to keep your speed and rpms high through the corner and carry your speed through by harnessing oversteer instead of avoiding it. its better to intentionally oversteer and control it then it is to power through a corner and lose control of your back end.
the reason its not used in other types of racing is that you melt through your tires unbelievably fast which is why its ideal for short intense downhill races instead of doesens of laps. also f1 is designed for grip. im not shitting on grip driving as im an avid f1/lemans/nascar fan. i enjoy all types of racing and all of their benefits and downfalls. if you took an f1 car on a downhill against a drift spec rx7, the FD would win with no doubt.
if you took a rally spec evo against a gt3 porsche in the swiss rally, obv the evo wins. it doesnt take a geneous to understand that. it all comes down to the rules and track. the only reason people think drift is about showmanship is because drift-comp is based on it.

but of course if you didnt inherit your knowledge of racing from fast and the furious movies youd already know all this.

dude, fast and furious movies got mufuckahs drifting up a slope.

and f1 car would fuckin slay a rx7, how old are those pieces of shit in north america anyway? 15 years? cuz im seeing some RHD joints rolling around recently.

i have a question for you, have you ever been for a proper hot laps session, a proper autocross, or a drivers training event? I do that shit son, not so much recently because im a geek, but you learn shit doing that. You drift and you lose big homie, you cant even win doing that shit in gran turismo. drifting is not the same thing as getting your car to 'rotate'

dude, you put in work to learn how to not lose control. fuck short downhill races, what are you rolling in because i bet if we did the burrard thermal hill climb my grocery getter will slay your 15 year old drifter.

shit a 40 year old lotus or tr-3 would slay an rx7

I already own it but by the time I'm done fixing it up and actually have need for a car, I'll probably be going through my mid-life crisis. Mine doesn't have a vinyl top and is in much better shape. Plus I've turned that 283 small block in to a beast!
