since it wasn't in caps, im assuming you're offering some credibility....but it still sounds too hipster justified to me, as if one was to say "neckerchiefs are a whole different clothing experience".
edit: i think im just bitter because i once went downhill on a fixed gear and it didn't turn out well. Last edited by wishbone; Mar 12, 08 at 11:59 AM. |

fixed gears require a lot of new biking mechanics, think of it like driving a standard car or an automatic. no one really requires standard much (except for pros and enthusiasts) but there is still a market for them. if you dont know what you're doing theyre as dangerous as a hungry bear.
im no fixie guy by any means, i was interested to try after last summer for logistical reasons, since a large contingent of friends had them. our biking trips got hilarious as i was peddling like a hamster to just keep up with the pack while they weren't breaking a sweat. THANK GOD FOR MY SHAPELY, MUSCULAR LEGS. this summer most of my fixie friends have other shit to do, so im back to bmx. but i need to buy another bike. |

hey matt,
that bike you posted would probably be awesome, better to get "more of a bike" than less. as you improve as a rider you'll want something that will perform. gotta tell you though, those specialized shoes will put you into official "bike douche" status and it won't be long til you're in full spandex gear. oh and, if you get something with a motor you're a grandma. also vouching for lenny as the man to go to if you've got questions. since retiring as a superstar rave DJ he's become the ultimate bike geek and can give better advice than anyone on the board. he's helped me buy my bmx (now stolen *sheds single tear*) my current 10-spd which brought my love for cycling and quality of life to new heights, and is currently building up a hot pink nishiki frame i recently scored with his hand me down parts into a single-speed as he continues to obsessively upgrade his ride. hit me up if you wanna talk bikes, review craigslist ads or need lenny's contact cuz he doesn't facebook or visit this site at all anymore. |

you know what? i thought it was just since summer!
but now that i do the math you're right, i noticed no bike when i moved, and that was about a year ago. you're right, that's fucked up, and it needs to change. thanks nicole for being a friend and letting me know when im out of line. |
