Everyone has this negative stigma about Richmond. Seriously, I have lived here since 1987 in an awesome neighbourhood with seriously NO CRIME - only one house in our neighbourhood has had a break-in since we've lived here. Schools, shopping centres and the track/pool/ice centre all within walking distance or less than 5 minute drive/bus ride.

East and North-East Richmond suck, anything West of No 4 road and South of Richmond Centre is great!

you are reading in what you want, ownership didn't even come up. The entire point made was as simple as what has been repeated for you atleast 3 times, boasting about where you rent is laughable when we can all open craigslist and live anywhere we want. And, think beyond the thread if you can muster it, these people go on and on about downtown while slaming everyone else's communitys on a daily basis.

Nobody was boasting about anything until the OP brought it up. Only thing that happened was someone pointed out the advertising as being somehow related to downtown when the property was in Maple Ridge. And honestly, that's a level of BS I'm willing to call out too. I'm getting tired of these Surrey condos claiming that they're the equivalent of Yaletown or some shit like that. But nobody was claiming one part of town was better than another (or that owning was better than renting) until that post was made. All the other opinions this thread has garnered regarding that have been reactionary.

The OP is acting like everybody that's talking about it in this thread started it, I'm just pointing out that if anybody was trying to put themselves above another because they owned or whatever it was them.
