Bring back the original Pathfinder or Jeep Grand Cherokee already! Those can actually handle the backroads.
I remember one winter in HS my family drove down to California. Going through the Olympics was ridiculous, but what kept me entertained was all the people who figured "I have an SUV! I can offroad this baby!" going careening past us on the shoulder, just to see them plowed into a snowbank 100 yards further up.

4Runner FTW!
hahaha I love the idiot SUV drivers in the wintertime. I was working one night (driving an 8 axle semi) driving along highway 3 when it was covered in ice/compact snow and an cocky SUV douchebag lost it trying to pass me at about 80 km/h and slammed into the corner of my back trailer.... I felt a little bump and pulled over to see wtf happened and it
completely mangled the front end of his vehicle.... He wasn't hurt thankfully, so I yelled at him for a bit and called him a tow truck when I got into town. It only did about $50 damage to the trailer lol.
