K, I received a thing that said the ihype isn't capable of doing all of these things..is this true?

- Cannot dial from home screen
- No speed dial or voice recognition
- phonebook can't be searched, only scrolled through
- No MMS or IM chat
- Cannot connect directly to a corporate email via a BES or to Exchange
- No video recording
- The OS on the iPhone takes up 700MB of device memory
- No expandable memory
- Cannot cut, copy, or paste text
- Document file read only, no editing for PDF, word or excel
- No GPS Capabilities
- No Flash Support
- No embedded video support

in any case, if they are then I'm pretty firm in the belief that the Blackberry still kicks the iPhone's ass.

Google seems to say that some stores are accepting pre-orders and some aren't.

Usually what that means, in my experience with Fido at least, is that you'll probably be able to order it from a Rogers/Fido store, but not third-party vendors that resell rogers/fido.

So here is the skinny:

They are taking reservations/putting names on a list for people who are eligible for a 3yr renewal or who would be a new contract ONLY.

No reservations are being taken for people wanting to just straight buy the hardware, and the rep that I talked to said that as far as she knows they may not even be getting enough product to fill the reservations; as Apple will be sending each location a set amount of each color/size.

Basically I was told to "come in on the 11th and see".... RIIIIGHT.

Bringing me to my next point, which is that if you're really smart you'll wait until they've been out for a few weeks first to see if there's any glaring defects a la XBox 360.

He announced a 32gb ipod touch, not an iphone. Iphones are only 8 and 16.

and don't hold your breath for those prices unless you are a new subscriber, the 199 and 299 prices are for subsidized for new customers. My guess is you will be paying closer to 400 if your not signing up for a new contract.
