A vw golf would be the most fuel efficient car yet very expensive for parts when it breaks done... Solution to that.. Buy it brand new off the lot , pay it in 5 years where the warranty would end and then sell it.
The toyota corolla is also another great fuel efficient car. Infact I read an article somewhere not so long ago where they ran a test and the car was running on Empty and still did 200 km before it went out. Civics are also great as well. But one thing alot of people tend to misunderstand is the type of fuel that they are putting into there vehicles as well as regular tune ups. The fuel grade that you put into your tank will have an affect on both your mileage as well as your engine life. Higher the octane, the cleaner the burn the better the mileage. it may be a few extra cents however just use a points card for the gas station and you can save up to 3.5 cents a litre (at least through petro-can). In the end you will have a less of a chance of running into issues with the mechanical portion of the engine. |

That all depends on where you get your parts for the repairs and who you get to do the repairs. If you are one of those who shell out the big bucks all the time and take it right to the dealer to get the parts and do the work your right, the price of VW repairs is going to be of course more expensive but far less repairs so it evens out. On the other side, if you get your parts from cheaper places (example lordco or try and get it from a wrecker or something) and then have a friend or small shop do the labour, your going to have wayy cheaper repair bills than the VW, as non dealer parts are pretty much next to impossible to get and few people will work on VW's, although it's getting better than it used to be
Back to the topic at hand, go for an import,(if you plan on keeping the car for along time) it will end up being the best in the long run. Nikita on here just got a honda fit and i was in it on saturday and i must say it's super nice, should definatly check it out Quote:

For every car that I have been though. And tried using regular gas .. I noticed my mileage would end up being really bad because its not as a better burn as the higher octane. And I know others that come up with the same predicament. |

whichever auto you choose, look into changing your driving techniques
Hypermiling :: Even without a hybrid car, no more need to compare gas prices hypermiling has pretty much revolutionized the way i drive and how much fuel i consume |

Thats another thing im torn on,financing vs leasing. Theres pros and cons to both,my sister says lease and my dads telling me to finance.Ive been considering a VW parts arent really an issue for me I get shit at just above cost from Lordco, but if any body damage were to happen im not sure what thatd look like for me.Ill have to ask my sis about that one. What i didnt like about the Yaris was that the dash was so high and it wasnt a power seat adjust mechanism but a fucking "pump" one, also the back was way too high too which made checking blind spots kinda fucking scary. Its an adjustment from a 6 cylinder to a 4 cylinder though:( |

bad burn does not occur on a car that is not modified. modern ecu's have maps to compensate for bad fuel. buying high octane fuel without a properly tuned car (and i mean on a dyno not some wack *****h with a 200 dollar axle back and 300 dollas in stickers) is like buying protein without working out, you just pissin it away. i wouldve thought you wouldve learned somehting in a race team..shiet all the wieght you lost would lead to much better times then better fuel. |

we supply to lordco :) and I have been dealing with 90% of the managers for over a year and get quality parts at just above cost not shit jobber parts. I wouldnt have to worry much about parts cuz if anything were to go wrong warranty would cover it for the most part so like yeah or something. |
