The Sirius/XM merger

I don't know about anyone else but as a Sirius customer I sure feel like I got screwed in this merger. XM users end up with more stations and Sirius users end up losing stations. 3 of my 10 presets alone got nixed in the merger (Punk Station, Boombox which was breaks and electro, and Backspin which was old school hip-hop)

They replaced Boombox with BPM which plays shit euroclub trash and there's no replacement at all for the old school stuff.

If they'd at least brought the XM contract with the NHL over I might have been ok but they didn't even bother to do that.

Any other statellite radio listeners have any thoughts?

That blows, sounds like grounds for cancellation. I've always enjoyed satelite radio but have never subscribed. Right now I just stream last fm and pandora in my car with my iPhone.

Yeah I've contemplated canceling and asking for a refund. It's not like I don't have anything I could still listen to but the stations that I tuned into most are gone.

My experience with XM was pretty terrible. For the most part it was just the same songs on a station repeating over and over again (worse rotation then the beat).

The comedy channel was probably the worse...

I was all over Boombox and Backspin, but thankfully Classic Vinyl, Classic Rewind, Coffee House, and Jam On are still all there. I haven't chilled in a vehicle long enough to find out if Howard Stern is still on though - that guy saved my ass in the bush.

boombox is gone? thats the only electronic station i liked.

boombox and backspin were the best stations by FAR... I know that BPM station and it licks ass. Though they play BBC's essential mix, but that's the only thing that station has going for it.

dude it dissapoints me to hear that. I'm now for sure not getting either since I was waiting for this merger.

kind of off topic but if you call and tell them you're going to cancel they will give you some free months. Even better is if you cancel completely they call you a few months after and offer you moar.
