I can think of many options that surpass "going to your local college/university" if you have tens of thousands of dollars and want to open your eyes to the world and what impact you can have on it.

Travelling is an eye opener for sure but I see education as the missing link. vice versa as well actually, I think the two should go hand in hand!
ying and yang type shit!
but I don't really dig business degrees....I feel like people in business are greedy bastards
sorry!

Mojo, I was mostly refering to your comment "because they can."

I personaly love to learn and believe you can never stop educating yourself nore is it ever a waste of time. However when so much time, effort, money, and the opportunity is taken and than not used... dont you find it kind of silly? At least look at a map before you start driving somewhere you've never been.

It seems kind of ironic that these smart and educated people spend 4 years working on a degree only to find out they hate it, cant find a job in it, or realise they took the wrong courses and have to go back.

This isn't the case with everyone, but when 18-19 year olds are "force" into committing to an education path that will set their skills for the rest of their life... dont you think its worth thinking about a little further before you tell them post secondary is the only way?

Ive met so many people who thought post secondary would hand over to them a professional career and a good paying job that would make them rich. When in reality many of them end up working at startbucks trying to pay off their student loan or working in a laboratory for $16 an hour. They sure dont tell you that in CAPP.
