1.5TB HD in your macbook pro.. :)

MacBook Mod Swaps DVD Drive for Extra Hard Disk Space | Gadget Lab | Wired.com

MCE OptiBay Hard Drive for MacBook Pro, MacBook, PowerBook G4, and Mac mini

“Take your SuperDrive out and put an OptiBay Hard Drive in and give yourself up to an extra 750GB of high performance hard drive space to use however you'd like. Combine it with up to a 750GB internal hard drive and find out what a dream it is to have up to 1.5TB of hard drive space inside your laptop.”

“Included with the MCE OptiBay is a free USB 2.0 SuperDrive Enclosure to ensure that you still have full functionality of the original internal SuperDrive you just removed from your system. This slim, portable, external USB 2.0 enclosure transforms your original SuperDrive drive into a bootable, bus-powered SuperDrive just as compatible with iTunes, iDVD, Finder Burning, Toast, DVD Player etc. as before!”

Sweet zombie jesus.. I know what I'm asking for this xmas... :)

faster drives + smaller spindles = faster random access times
slower drives + larger spindles = more space, slightly longer battery life

what is more important to you

also it was suggested going with swapping your main drive for a SSD and then put the stock one back in using this kit.
