Sexual Harassment In Nightclubs ....
I was chatting with a friend recently about why some guys think it is acceptable to walk up behind a girl they don't know who is dancing & put there hands around her waist. If a drunk guy did this to a girl in the street or in a store or any other public place for that matter he would no doubt get aressted. So why is it acceptable in clubs??
For example my friend was out with her sister at a club & they saw & were pestered by a drunk guy walking around the club touching girls (Not even just trying to dance with them) when she complained to the bouncer he just said "oh hes just drunk". I was also out this weekend with my girlfriend & a friend from out of town. As the night went on some drunk guy starts pestering my friend after she told him several times to go away & he didnt. eventualy I told him to go away & he apologized and did so. Later on all three of us are dancing having a good time when some meathead roid monkey brushes past me & puts his hands round my girl. I politely tap him & tell him to back off. 2 min later he tries it again, so I give him a more aggressve nudge & tell him thats my Girl only then does he back off. Just after that I turn round & the same guy from before is anoying my friend. I have to tell im another three times to back off and only after the third time does a securty guard step in & tells him to keep away from us. So agian my question is. Why is this kind of harassment acceptable in clubs? I thought the law was the same every where. I personally have never just walked up behind a girl & find it disrespectful that a guy would even think a girl would want to dance with someone having not even see his face. |

because they serve booze and booze makes people retarded.
social norms become distorted in that environment, it's not the bouncers job to kick people out for behaving impolitely. it sucks that you had to put up with that shit, i don't agree with the behaviour of people like that - but it's pretty much par for the course that if you socialize at bars/clubs you'll run into people who overstep personal boundaries. |

Yeah I know this is considered "par for the course" but it shouldn't be! This kind of attitude is the reason assholes get away with raping girls. Testifying with comments like "She new what she was looking for when she went to that club" & "She gets around so she probably asked for it".
This actually happened in the UK not to long ago where a girl was raped after being at a club and it was caught on camera & even after she had to relive the horrifying ordeal through the courts the guy still got away with not so much as a mark on his record. Some fucking Justis! Sorry for the hardcore rant but this issue really disgusts me & worries me sick every time my girl goes out without me. |

Sadly Rawb's right.
Hitting up places like gossip, roxy etc... you're going to a place where a lot of girls encourage this and a lot of guys think it's fine behavior. Leave places like that to them, there's a ton of great spots in the city where stuff like this won't happen. |

Honestly though some of the "better" spots in Vancouver have been getting more and more of this behaviour it seems lately. Been to a Friday night at Celeb's lately? I swear that used to be a gay bar....
Also, sometimes a crappy bar is the only place you'll be able to see particular shows or big names come into town, and even in those cases you're bound to get the club regulars coming in. |

I had this problem today the liquor store. Some drunk chachi chasing one of my clerks around asking for hugs, trying to pick up a two-six of morgan's. He was practically bum-rushing. Pretty close. Making her uncomfortable, slurring his words and shit. So I stepped in and denied the guy booze, there's no way we could have served him. Some lucky lady is not going to get the herp tonight.
