scary image
Pvt. Sinisha Dordevic, from the 3rd Battalion of the Royal Canadian Regiment, holds his gun at the ready during a dry-fire exercise at Canadian Forces Base Petawawa. PETAWAWA, Ont. (CP) - Canada's contribution to a war in Iraq - should it make one - could include as little as a naval and air force presence in the Persian Gulf or as much as a battle group in a forward base, insiders say. Whatever their role, it's very unlikely Canadian troops of any kind will be part of an invasion force. Instead, they would probably come in after the initial fighting, as they did in Afghanistan a year ago. Light infantry soldiers from the 3rd Battalion, Royal Canadian Regiment, pulled out all the stops on a recent cold-weather exercise in eastern Ontario, conducting helicopter-borne assaults with live ammunition and light-armoured support. Some 500 soldiers from the battalion, which is now on one-year's rotation as Canada's rapid reaction force, had already been through urban warfare training at Fort Drum in New York State last May. Taken from myBC.com Scary thought, but atlteast we arent doing any super trooper all american hero fighting eh? -myles |

That is a creepy pic.
I plan on heading down to the US Embassy (1095 Pender I believe) on the day war actually breaks out. It's inevitable that its gonna happen and unfortunately our country will run along side like an obedient lap dog. The sad thing is that this is more a war over oil and money than anything else. The US govt. acts like the world police with this 'We're only here to help' crap and you know they only have their own interests in mind. Bah... gettin' all fired up now!! :finger: |

Sorry to say, but the day the war breaks out I will be in my closet huddled in a fetal position.
War = nervous breakdown for me. Fuck I was such a mess I ended up in the hospital after 9/11, I can only imagine how I'll handle it if/when a war breaks out. And yes I know there is war's all the time, but I try not to pay attention (although that may be ignorant it keeps me from being depressed and/or mental). They usually aren't the proportion this one could be, and who knows.. we may end up in another world war :( hahaha Dave thats EXACLTY what I was going to say. I'm proud to live in Canada for a reason, and the fact I haven;t come across someone (until now) who reffers to their gun with such an affectionate term, is one of them. |

Dude! Those smileys kick ass!
I remember hearing at the anti-war rally a few weeks ago that people would be gathering somewhere at 5 o'clock the day that war breaks out but I don't think it was the US embassy. Or maybe it was. Was anyone else there that heard that? |
