my opinion on buying a car that's heavily modded...the obvious reason is it's usually someone young, which usually means it was shit kicked...also you run the risk of it being quite mickey moused. not everyone is like that, but their's a lot of people how totally destroy their car. most dealerships that sell modded cars often charge a higher price cuz it's modded, which is total b.s. cuz when u trade it in they say "we don't care about the mods" i'd probably only buy a car with very minor mods myself...

you don't want a car thats moded already..its probably been beat to shit, had accidents and overpriced.
get a stock car and modifiy it..besides its almost pointless to modify a economy car anyway. any car you buy probably wont be fast |

dude
for 10 grand you can build a sweet car get a 91-94 240sx with blown engine for CHEAP, drop in an sr20det engine ($3000-3500), some suspension work ($1000), a kit ($500-1500), some rims ($2000). Add a FMIC ($600), walbro fuel pump ($150-200 i think) and run 15lbs boost (SR20DET should safely take that on stock headgasket). You're now sitting in a 14 second rice rocket that'll do 0-100 in about 6 seconds, pushing 250hp |

with 20 grand...
you can buy mine for ten....then you have ten to make it hella fast. turbo it.... then get spoon stage 3 cams then tune the shit out of it. with a turbo youll be in low 13's for sure with my car...and man youll have a great time too. youre gonna have to beef up the tranny though to take the power, but you got ten grand right ?? i personally dont know any turbo'd EF hatchbacks like mine in vancouver - especially not with a b16. bren |

IMO, if ya got 20 grand then buy a newer-ish car and mod it yourself. its fun making a car an "original" rather than just buying a car thats done up. plus if you buy a already modded car from a dealer, YOU WILL GET RAPED! hella $$$$
if i had 20 grand when i was buying a car, i would have definitely bought a newer car. but i love my crx, so its all good for now! :) but thats just my opinion, take it or leave it... |

plus 240s have fuckin sick handling stock. rwd drive and 50/50 wieght sistrubtion along with a tite suspension set up makes for a dope handling car. HAHAHAHHA If you even thought about putting a sr20det in a civic id suggest you do some modifications to your brain before you attempted that. Maybe hitting yourself on the head with a hammer would do the trick...you should read up on every possible car you can afford before you decide on anything, maybe then you'll realize how stupid that idea is. a sr20det swaop would proably cost around 5-6k with labour...but in the end you'd have a fuckin awesome car. |

SR20DET is rear wheel drive. But you can do anything if you have enough money :) |
